  • Jewish cemetery

This cemetery is the "new" Jewish cemetery, where was the "old" one nobody knows. There are some theories and the likeliest is that the "old" cemetery was demolished by building the chateau's garden. There are about 2500 tombstones at the site. The oldest one is from the year 1640 and the youngest are from the 30-ies of the 20th century. The most...

  • Jewish town

Go from the castle down to the heart of Boskovice to Jewish town. It is known quite a lot about the Jewish settlement. There is special exposition in the Placka museum in the Jewish town. • Boskovice chateau

The chateau can be found on Hradni street. It is in Empire style and so it is enclosed with parks. You will pass through a wrought gate into the front garden. Two-storied building has four wings, that form inside a simple yard. The chateau's door opens into an antique hall supported by mighty columns. The Empire glasshouse was established in the...

  • Boskovice castle

The castle stands up above the valley of the stream Bela in the height 448 m with a view of Mala Hana and Chlumy. It was built probably in the 13th century. It is surrounded by quite well-preserved ramparts with loop-holes. You can find on the walls the marks of long past conquers - burrowed in stone shots. Over the main gate are three panels with...

Boskovice Restaurants

  • Near the gardencentre

It was rather a simple hut with a garden, the ambient very elemantary and a backpacker class. The menu was short but looked very delicious - tripe soup, beef goulash, neat's-foot, pancakes etc. and beer of course. But I do not think they speak or have the menu in English or any other language than Czech. The menu is written on a blackboard by the...

  • In the city centre

The restaurant looked quiet good, the dining room was non-smoking and the service fast. But I must say that the dishes were nothing special. The soups were very good but my friend orderd fruit dumplings and he had a lot work to find the fruits inside of them :-( But at the other hand, when he complained he got a bowl with stewed fruits for free....
