Go out of Prague. Although it's a fabulous city and you should spend at least a week there to see the sights. Go to Karlsbad for the spa treatments, they are not exactly health farm standards but an interesting experience!Visit the Crystal factories of Bohemia, walk in the woods where they filmed The Scarlet Pimpernell, just walk!!! The friendly people, the incredibly cheap (and delicious)food (although not for vegetarians!)and the beer, oh yes, definitely the beer!
Take a few minutes to absorb the ambience that resides in Prague... Look down at the city and soak in the atmosphere.. The Royal Opera House, i think it's called... beautiful facade.. We stood outside and just stared at it for several minutes!

The Old Town Square, wander around the streets of the old town, drink Czech beer (Pilsner) and go to Charles Bridge (Karlovy Most), have a short cruise on the Lebe (Elbe) River are some of the things I did. Not bad for one day. What I didn't do? Didn't have time for the Hradcany Castle / St. Vitus Cathederal side. Funnies, sort of...You can apparently now get anything from a Mac Donalds to a lady of the night. But I got no offers. So it doesn't count. So it doesn't matter. Boo hoo!* Pictures: St. Vitus Cathederal and the hill where Stalin's Statue used to stand before the Velvet Revolution. Beefy at http://www.geocities.com/beefnetuk

Buy some Absynth (80% vol) and Fernet (can also be used to clean the bath) Drinking my way through the menu in a cafe just outside the center. 20 drinks and dinner cost $10 about the price of a sandwich in the center of the city.

Go to Prague for at least three days. I lived in Prague for One Month when I first got here. Prague is just one cool city. I met many nice people there and it is just beautiful. The summer is great but there is many tourists. If I were going to take someone around Prague, I would take them to Old City first and in Prague One and Two but then get on the out skirts and go to a real Czech pub. My fondest memory so far in the Czech Republic is falling in love with a beautiful Czech girl named Andrea.
Try the local cuisine! The food in the Czech Republic is amazing and very cheap (for westerners). It mainly consists of meat, potatoes and cabbage. To drink, beer, beer and beer. Czech's know their beer, they consume the most beer in the world. My favourite part was visiting the 'Bone Church' in Sedlec, a town 2km outside of Kutna Hora. The church contains the human bones of tens of thousands of people, uniquely decorated to capture one's eye. It was amazing!!!

Go to Prague - it's ideal for a long weekend if you live in Europe. The castle area (allow most of one day), convent and Charles bridge (early in the morning, before ALL the tourists get there) are well worth visiting.
If I should recommend anything, it would be walking the old Prague on foot, if you are up to it. There are many historical sites to see and visit. My favorite is the church of St. Nicholas. Right after the Hradcany Castle. Then I would take you to Petrin, from the tower, there is a beautiful view of Prague. What can I say! I miss the whole country and people, talking to them, they are friendly, specially in small towns and villages. I miss Czech food, visiting castles, historical sites and basically to be there!
CESJE BUDEJOVICE.......Leaving the hilly terrain in Karlovy Vary, we headed Southeast to the gentle rolling hills of Cesje Budejovice. This town is totaly different from Karlovy Vary. This is the liveliest town we had ever seen. We were welcomed by the cheerful & relaxed atmosphere. Families step out together with their cute kids, teenagers hanging around in the Main Square. We spent two days here and it is our last destination. WARNING: NOT FOR THE FAINT-HEARTED....... My most memorable event while we were in Cesje was the trip up to the darkened tower or Cerna Vez. It is very steep about 250 steps. Going up the steps was OK, but when I was coming down, I was a bit scared and grabbed at the smooth balustrade to balance myself.
