  • Mecca: Mecca great nightclub

Visited Mecca with few mates last month and I can only recommend this club! We were on a stag do and booked with Killbo Prague, they booked us a VIP table in Mecca and got the Hummer limousine transfer to this club as it is about 15 minutes from centre. The entry was 400 czech koronas which was not much for an excellent French DJ playing that night. We had a great time. We had two beautiful guides with us but girls in Mecca were at least as pretty as our guides.

Dress Code: No sneakers, shirt and jeans are fine.

  • Mecca: DO NOT USE COAT CHECK

    by kwood17 Written Jun 1, 2011

NEVER NEVER NEVER use the coat check. My friends and I have been going to their free wednesday nights, and tonight six people reported that their cash, credit cards, passports, and/or identifying documents were stolen FROM THE COAT CHECK. The management did not care, and when the police were called even they didn't do anything. This is a tourist trap, i would highly advise no one else to go there. Plus their drinks are insanely over priced and their are a bunch of creepy euro trash guys. Avoid this place at all costs.

Dress Code: they say classy, however people show up in gross typical fashion of central europe.

Mecca: Just out of the city but well worth a visit

Considering the city was very quiet when we were there Mecca was buzzin! We went on a Wednesday night and it was nearly full.

The main room was house/trance music which never let up. Fantastic night and only a short taxi ride from the centre.

Plenty of taxi's at any time to get home, closed at 5am.

Dress Code: None when we went

Mecca: The Mecca of Prague nightlife

This is a very cool club with 3 seperated areas. First, you walk into a lounge area, very posh looking...You go through the hall and enter the main room that contains a large bar and dance floor, along with the cream of the crop in Prague nightlife society.

Then you go downstairs to the hang out. This is quite a loungy place, as well, but far from the posh design of the front room. It is where you go to chill out with loud music, a ciggy, a drink, and the guy or girl you are hoping to land by the end of the night!

Very cool place, cool music (even though I don't normally like techno), expensive drinks, but well worth it.

Dress Code: No matter what you wear, you just have to look good. Make sure you wear something you didn't buy 3 years ago!

    Morales at Mecca

Missed the David Morales night here by a week, but thought we'd give it a go anyway. The club is in the suburbs, a short taxi ride from the centre. Excellent venue (for Prague), and the cheap cost of drinks (compared to bars in the centre) more than justifies the taxi ride. DJ was playing a very impressive house set when we got there (about 10pm), and the night looked promising. However around midnight, the club emptied... completely ! Don't know if this was a one off, but the Morales night looks good...Would go back there again, if you got there early enough you could pay for the return taxi trip, and you'd still get your money back in cheap drinks at the bar.

Nobody would come to Prague for the clubs, but out of them all, Mecca is probably THE best 'CLUB' club in Prague and has a small Ibiza feel to it.

Check the website below for DJ lineups, although they rarely seem to have anyone famous. Instead they have the usual hotch-potch of "famous" European DJ's with names like DJ Brian, and DJ Malcolm...

Dress Code: As with most places in Prague, none really

    Mecca: great place for dancing.

    large.
    two floors.
    alwasy bring in great dj's
main dance floor - music played loud. rhythm/beat gets into your body...you can feel it. great
lower dance/lounge area - more of a chillout, but sometimes a little pumped up. big weird plastic like couches.
front bar/lounge area - when you need to chill from the music for a bit. good area to chat.
usually a cover charge - amount depends on who's playing.
it's out of the way a bit...on a tram line. easiest to just get a taxi there.

Dress Code: dress to fit the music...if you do that...
    anything goes. usually.
