I was blown away by the up-to-dateness of the airport. It is the most attractive airport of its size that i have ever seen anywhere (March 27, 2006)
***As of January 2012: Airport keeps expanding. So many convenient flights throughout most of Europe and beyond. Make sure to be flexible in your destinations: a one-way flight to Brussels on Brussels Airlines was $400 whilst the same flight (on Easyjet) was $80!****

Prague's airport is a busy European hub with flights all over the continent with many major airlines, but especially with the excellent flag-carrier Czech Airlines. Direct flights outside of Europe are less common than at airports like Frankfurt and Heathrow, but there are a few.
Czech Airlines offers Toronto, New York and Tel Aviv, the last two also covered by Delta Airlines and El Al respectively. Delta Airlines also offers Atlanta, while Korean Airlines flies directly to Seoul. Most of these flights are from Terminal 1, with most of the smaller airlines and routes from T2.
Taxis from the airport will cost you between 500 and 700czk, but you can get an airport bus into town between about 4am and 9pm in the evening for a tenth of that. Other than a taxi or airport bus you are left with public transport, which requires you take Bus 119 to Dejvická and switch to the metro.

Ruzyne Airport was the first place where I said hello and the last one I said bye to Prague. I flew in with Czech Airlines (best dessert I've had so far when it comes to airline food) and out with SAS. I remember seeing a plane hanging upside down from the roof from Qantas and saying something about the land down under. Too bad I didn't take a picture of it.
From here Mr. Sweden and I took a cab to meet the landlord of the apartment we rented, but I understand that it's easy to go to and from the airport with public transportation by means of bus lines 100, 119 and 179 but since I didn't use them I can't comment on them.

We booked our flight tickets from Athens to Prague with SkyEurope.
SkyEurope is a low cost airline which flies mainly to Central Europe. If you book early enough you can get very low prices.
Prague’s airport is about 20 km from the city center.

when u get in to the arrivals hall , there is a list of desks including
one for CEDAZ Transportation which were very helpful and reasonable
480 kronas = 16 euros for 1-3 people from the airport to any address in Prague including the suburbs
When we were going back to the airport rather than lugging our
luggage around got the hotel to ring the same CEDAZ Grp and they were there as arranged
when they come to your hotel be sure to check their ID and their bus has distinctive marks on it , as supposedly some illegal taxi firms seem to pick up on their calls /And turn up at the same time , and end up charging u alot more and could result in u missing your flight

Free WiFi is available at the airport, but speed is limited and some services are blocked. Paid option is also available.
...............................
There are some paid T-Mobile WIFI hotspots.
Free interned with PC's:
Terminal 1
I didn't check lately, but there was cafe in Terminal 1 offering access to PC with free Internet after ordering some refreshments from them. Look for the cafe at the window when walking towards gates B (to the left when leaving from passport control).
Terminal 2.
For some time it was closed, but might be working again: attached to "Black @ white" close to the stairs/lifts from gates "D" level to gates "C". Look to the right "behind" the bar.

Top tip for when you're about to fly out from Prague Ruzyně:
The security checks are at the gates so you can take your own drinks all the way there. We left all of our drinks behind in the hotel as we didn't know this and ended up buying drinks at the airport. It didn't exactly break the bank but still, was just annoyed as we already had drinks and left them!
Unfortunately you of course have to give them up before going through security but there are drinks machines in the waiting area just before boarding the plane. Probably still cheaper than buying drinks on the plane!

We will never fly with them. again. Our international flight halifax to london was with Icelandair. Our two different planes onroute with them were cancelled due to Tech failures. We sat for ours on the runway and then the airport ...we had two overnights...one at the halifax airport and another in Iceland. When we finally got in the air the plane looked in bad shape . The window casing came off in my hand .
They did pick up the two nights hotel and meals but they were so disorganized. Our 10PM Halifax flight saw people waiting from 1AM until 330AM while they hand wrote each hotel voucher. No free drinks on this International flight and movies cost $10.00.
