Lvi Dvur means the Lion Court. Its near the entrance to the Royal Gardens of the Castle. So-called as it was the former private zoo of Rudolph II where the former emperor heated the cages during the cold winter months for his beloved animals. Today guests at the tables are greeted with animal drawings on the walls and placemats with the emperor's lions, lynxes, leopards and wolves.
Favorite Dish:
Fortunately these animals are not on the menu here although there is plenty of choice.
We were glad we saved room for the delicious desserts - our choice was cheese cake and apple strudel with caramel sauce.
A lovely restaurant just near the castle gardens. Excellent friendly service.
Favorite Dish:
The Prague piglet with kettle chips and accompanying sauces and salad is the speciality here but I enjoyed the Castle Skewer (a mixed meat kebab) served with roast potatoes, vegetables and sauces)
Dessert was a delicious cream cheese cake.
The whole meal was delicious - I couldn't understand why we virtually had the place to ourselves, although I wasn't complaining.
A great anniversary meal here.
