There is very unique place at Staromestske namesti – we have enjoyed spectacular views of Prague sitting on the beautiful viewing terrace on the roof of the Hotel U Prince. To complete the feeling, they also offer their cocktail bar, specialities from the kitchen and grill.
Although quite expensive, terrace U Prince should not be missed.
Resturant and hotel U Prince is located at the Old Town Sq.
Generaly we can call this place as tourist trap but I would like to talk about its ROOF TERRACE...great place to have a drink or icecream. On spring or summer its amazing there. Great view and you are sitting among famous Prague red roofs, all around you and view on whole Prague. Cant miss it!! Im local and I like that place...
U Prince Hotel Roof Terrace Bar is situated in the Old Town Square, almost at eye level with the clock on the famous Astronomical Clock Tower, the Roof Terrace Bar offers the most outstanding views of central Prague.
The food was first class. we ate on the rooftop area and although it was october, due to patio heaters we were very warm. The views across the surrounding rooftops was spectacular. A definite "must see" for anyone visiting prague.
Favorite Dish: A roast duck dish.
5star Hotel U Prince on Old Town Square has a Rooftop Bar on the 6th floor. Actually it doesn't matter what you eat or drink - you get the most beautiful view of Prague for free. Old town Square, the Castle, lesser known towers of a medieval City - everything is there at your feet and at night even enlightend. Oh, and by the way: they have a cocktail menu with 190 [!] different drinks for completely reasonable prices (starting at 3€50). You can also eat, everything from hamburger and fries to tenderloin and potatoe gratin. We didn't try - which was a mistake, as we realized when walking down the stairs to the 5th floor where the elevator is.
Attention: we almost missed the bar because as a 5star hotel they don't have a big advertisment, just small signs pointing to there great rooftop bar.
Favorite Dish: I really don't remember the names of all the colourful drinks we tried. Just that they were good and cheap. And thanks to the bar being part of a 5star hotel they didn't use cheap schnaps. I didn't have a headache the next morning. And by the way: you don't go there for eating or drinking. You definitely go there for the view!
Most evenings there was live music, a Jazz band one evening was excellent ( and I'm not really a Jazz fan ). But the atmosphere was electric.
I must not forget the beer.. there is nothing better than Czech beer. I recommend Staropramen.
Favorite Dish: I had a variety of dishes over the week, The Venison ghoulash was good and also the salmon dishes.
This place was horrible at best! Make sure you take note of the 30 CZK cover charge per person (it's in small print towards the end of their 30 page menu). They will tell you it is for the bread and condiments, but don't bother refusing to take the bread, because you will pay regardless. The bread was stale and crap. The meal... we ordered the rice ball and when we got it, the center was still frozen. We told the waiter, so they brought us another one, which was also frozen. Either way, we were charged for it. We also ordered 3 entrees. All three were some of the worst food I've had in Prague. If you are hungry and your only choice is this place, then I would suggest having the snacks in your hotel room's minibar.
Favorite Dish: Nothing.
The most fabulous location in Prague. Best people watching. Outdoor tent with cozy heated lamps. Great food. Spent many an afternoon there.
Favorite Dish: Czech Beer, great pasta, soups too
