This was our favourite restaurant of the trip. The food was really good and the atmosphere excellent. The jazz musician on the night we were there was a pianist. A bit of live music certainly adding to the experience. Waiters were friendly and made the evening enjoyable, no grumpy Czechs in here. The notice outside offered a 3 course 'tourist menu' for 20 Korunas but you had to ask for this as this menu was not offered by the staff. However, this was the only place that we visited in Prague that offered a 1/2 price dish for children. Desserts were 99 Korunas, approx £2.50 or $4.75
Favorite Dish: Veal steaks served with pasta and a ( I think)cheese sauce, very tasty all the same.
Serving six types of goulash, potato or bread dumplings and your choice of beer or wine. This is a fine place to be on a pleasant summer's evening. The jazz trio provides a nice ambiance and the patio dining is lovely. It is many blocks from any main attractions do the setting is very peaceful.
A word of caution, this place does charge extra for the live music which you don't find out until your bill arrives (a couple dollars a person) and the bread that they set out for you is also an extra charge whether you eat it or not. But we found that the surcharges were minor aggrevations as compared to the romantic atmosphere provided by the jazz trio.
The total bill with four half liter beers came to about 750 crowns or $30 (american).
