Vltava river and bridges, Prague
Right near the Charles Bridge, we spotted this graceful flock (group? gaggle?) of swans swimming peacefully along Vlata River.
The city is divided by river Vltava: Stare Mesto, Josefov, Nove Mesto and suburbs of Zizkov and Vysehrad is on the left bank, and Hradchani, Mala Strana and Smichov on the right bank.
Down at Slavonic Island you can rent small boats for 1/2 h or 1 h. It's quite nice on a sunny and warm day. Gives a special atmosphere as well.
We rented a paddle boat one
afternoon on the Vltava River,
and we has a great time.
Two hours was under $10 USD
A must to do if you have time ....
I took a boat trip on my last day in Prague. You got to do this. It was very relaxing and from the boat on the Vltava you can review the places you have visited in your memory.
Take the river cruise . It was worth the money. We passed beneith some bridges and you'll see the city from different angle. You'll even get a hand wave from passing bye tourists.
A really beautiful river with many bridges to cross from side to side.
Of course the most famous bridge is Charles Bridge with all the beautiful statues and the tower
This view shows the graceful arches of Charles Bridge. The bridges are, in order, Manesuv Most, Karluv Most, Most Legii.
I saw a really nice view of Prague's bridges on a postcard photo which must have been taken from the hill in Letenske Sady. Though I never found the right spot. this view comes the closest.
Take a pedalo out on the Vlatva river and enjoy the great views. Just watch out for the cruise boats.
Vltava River with its beautiful swans. On the background you can see couple of bridges and even the St.Vitus Cathedral (very far away though).
Take one of the many river-sightseeing boats.
You will get a nice overview of the many historical sights and buildings.
If you need a break why not stop at the Strelecký Ostrov, the 'shooters' island. You will hav a nice view over the Moldova and the charles bridge from here....
Not only one bridge is in Prague ! Over the river Vltava are many bridges with very nice views !
Very enjoyable way of spending a couple of hours with a great opportunity to see the City from the river.
there are many options available.
We went for the Lunch Cruise (2 hours)
