Simply restaurant and Simply cafe: Lunch in a modern house

by Zajem Updated Apr 16, 2011

    2.5 out of 5 starsHelpfulness

I haven't been inside yet, because I get to Prague mostly in the weekends as last time and the restaurant and cafe placed on the ground floor of the Danube House are open only from Monday till Friday.

    Restaurant - 10.00 am - 10.00 pm
    Cafe - 8.00 am - 8.00 pm.

The soups from the week menu are all about 30.00 Kcz / 1.20 € and the second meal runs around 135.00 Kcz/5.50 €.

When you want to go for lunch 12.00 - 2.00 pm or so, it's reccomended to call (+420 246 024 294) and make the reservation of a table.

Happy hour - 2.00 pm - 3.00 pm gives you 10% discount for all meals from the menu.

Small and cosy beer restaurant where locals drink Urquell or Gambrinus and watch tv, chat etc. This is really not tourist restaurant, and food is great but not expensive. We ate skewers called "Arrow of Robin" with potato pancakes. Mmmm... Together with two large beers we payed only about 200Kc.

    Pizza Coloseum: Non

by Sirvictor Updated Jan 30, 2011

Late in the night we decided to eat somewhere . Czech language was unfamilar to us. There were seldom german or English signs. We saw a sign "Pizza". This was wonderful. At last we met something familar. It was a pizza reataurant on the second floor of a typical huge Czech building. We find the way hardly entering into a passage. To discover new surroundings made us intereseted. At the end of the cortridor of the passage there was a night club with high music and some peculiar dark people. We climbed the stairs to 2nd floor. It was a large restaurant not full of people. We asked a Czech if they have a free table. Czech girl didntanswered. We moved into the saloon. We found an emty table near the winwow looking towards Wencelas Square. A waiter came and said that this table was reserved. We looked each other. There were only 5 or 10 customers in the salon and the saloon was big enaugh for 100 customers. Never mind we were tired and hungry. we sat on another table and ordered 3 pizza with beer. After an hour the pizza was ready. We just sit there and rested. Pizza was good.

I am not sure of the name of the restaurant, but it is situated on the square opposite the astrological clock. Although the cake was very nice, it was not as nice as the one I had in Salzburg.

    Favorite Dish: Sacher torte

    Svata Klara: Restaurant in cave

by Kimv Written Jun 2, 2006

    2.5 out of 5 starsHelpfulness

Restaurant Svata Klara is situated in cave, 16 meters beyond the surface. Cave was used as a stock of wines by the count Vaclav Vojtech of Sternberk. Today there is interesting, but quite expensive restaurant. Food was good, but the atmosphere is the main reason why you should go there. Very romantic! We started with czech onion soup with white wine and cheese brad (120Kc each). Then I took Venison steak with wild mountain spices (410Kc), which was good but nothing special. Service was good and they gave us starters from house. I don't know what it was but it tasted good.. Wine is expensive: 900Kc or more. So we drank beer(60Kc). But as I said, go for the atmosphere. Place is Unique!

Check their website! There is nice pics!
