Tesco: Tesco

I love shopping at Tesco's and they were just around the corner from the apartment that we rented, so it made shopping very easy for us. Tesco is the biggest department store in Prague's city centre. Easily accessible on foot from all hotels and apartments in central Prague, Tesco is located just 3 minutes walk from Wenceslas Square and 7 minutes from the Old Town Square and Charles Bridge. The store is spread over 5 levels and sells a large range of food, clothes, hardware, foodstuff and more: Opening hours Tesco main store: Mon-Sat 08:00-21:00; Sun 09:00-20:00Food Store: Mon-Sat 07:00-21:00; Sun 08:00-20:00

Just off Wincesla square if you move towards your right, you will find the fresh fruit and veg market. It is an absolute treat to wander around here and if you are staying in self catering, it is the best place to buy your stuff from.

Celetná Crystal: Chrystal delighst

A fancy crystal glass shop over three floors, where you can get just anything you want made of glass/crystal - at a price. This store is upmarket, and the quality of the wares appears excellent. Prices are high compared to some ofthe other stores in town, but still nothing that would scare you away if you are looking for e.g. romantic champagne glasses for two or six as a souvenir from Praha.Open daily 10-19 (Nov-March)10-20 (April-Oct). We bought crystal, frosted white wine glasses as gifts that we know the beneficiaries are most satisfied with. Basically, drinking glasses is what I'd look for here. Depends on quality, workmanship and your willingness. The lower range products will not be found here.

The crystal in all the shops are fantastic. It is impossible to tell you which shop to use. Bit of advise, buy shortly after you get there, because eventually it is so much it starts looking like kitch Blue Onion Design crockery
