Forty's Pizza: Top Pizza in Town?

by LeeRobertAdams Updated Aug 1, 2011

    3.5 out of 5 starsHelpfulness

The top take out pizza in town. Forty's serve up excellent crispy pizzas at a half-decent price. You can try ordering delivery over the phone, but as their English isn't too hot, it's fifty-fifty whether you actually get it or not.

The selection's pretty much what you'd expect from a pizza takeaway, and you can also mix and match to your own requirements, although this isn't a cheap option.

If you're really lucky, they might have a few pizzas that didn't get delivered at a bargain price - I haggled them down to 50kc for an ultra-large Mexicana, usually worth 219kc!

Along with a change of location, their website has also been revamped, now in English as well as Czech, and features an online ordering section. This takes the hassle out of ordering, but beware, the delivery is still as sloppy as the middle of their pizza - our most recent delivery took an hour and a half to reach us!

Favorite Dish: Bob Solo or Mexicana for me - although I'm also partial to the Spinach & Chicken. Sod it, I'll take one of each!

Pizza U Doktora: Dirty, dirty Pizza...

by LeeRobertAdams Updated May 8, 2011

A shabby little takeaway pizza joint on Uvoz, you can pick up a huge slice of dirty pizza for a handful of shrapnel. It'll seem like a good idea at the time, but results next day can be spectacular - picture what would happen if you poured a tub of baking soda up your butt, then went on a roller coaster. That's what happened to me. Several times.

It smells good and opens late, which is always a dangerous combination for people staggering out of the pub. Therein lies U Doktora's genius.

I cant remember the name of this pizzeria. I go there time to time for pasta or really delicious risotto with seafood, which reminds me spanish paella. Of course many kinds of pizza. There is a good offer of high-quality wines (well not so high!).

Contains: 30 kinds of pizza and other italian-cuisine dishes. I used to go here for pizza until I discovered another (better) pizza house!

la Botte: The best Italian food in Brno?

Great pasta and pizza. The restaurant is open at the back with a garden outside so gives a nice feeling especially in the warmer weather.
