Look out carefully for the trafic signs and explanations ( although they are given ONLY in Czech language )
Plenty of parkings like this one in the very centre - close to the park and to many of the expensive hotels - are allowed ONLY for residents of the hotels or local people.

Karlovy Vary / Karlsbad is situated in the north-west of Czechia, about 50 Km east of Cheb / Eger.
Car-trafic is quite heavy and searching for a parking outside of the city is a good idea and saves you from a lot of stress

For a change of scenery the train to Marianske Lazne passes quite slowly through some beautifully wooded countryside.
It takes about an hour and half to leisurely trundle some fifty odd kilometers.
