Watch out for the lovely well on the main square of Hradec Kralove, opposite of the church of the Assumption of Holy Mary.
All of the well is covered by great iron-works and on the very top you may see a great wind-rose, showing the blacksmith at work.

This great house is on Velke namesti / the Main Square, next to the church of the assumption of Holy Mary.
Just click on the picture in order to see the great roof with lovely ornaments.
This building was restored by a bank ...
...how comes it is always THEM, who may afford such places ?? :-)

Take a closer look at the sculptures around the entrance-gate of the monastery-hospital.
There you may see plenty of religious ornaments and sculptures of saints.
Click on my picture to see all the great details !
Close to the building is another great restaurant-garden and the smell coming out of the kitchen was tempting, but I had to hurry and take my pics, as long as the sun was still shining on a perfect evening in july 2003

This is another great building on the small square at the end of the street Rokytanskeho.
I passed by it on my way to the main square, and obviously it was a monastery-hospital once.
I passed by at around 06.00p.m. and the last evening-sun was shining on the facade, giving it a special atmosphere...

Rokytanskeho is the street behind the old townhall and it finally ends in the square shown on my picture.
The square has also a lot of lovely houses , all painted in beautiful pastel-colors and most of them recently restored.
Somehow the communiste times were obviously a good chance for these buildings to survive, as there was never enough money to take them away and build something modern instead.
Today investors are interested to restore the old buildings and realized it is mostly even a better business than to build something new.

Please do not oversee Dekanske namesti - the small square behind the cathedral - as it shows a complete row of extremely beautiful baroque buildings that were obviously in posession of the church in former centuries.
All of them were recently restored it a really perfect way and look simply great painted in different pastell-colors.

Around Velke namesti / the main square of Hradec Kralove you will see plenty of great baroque buildings, most of them with the typical arcades, that are really a great help for shoppers and tourists during the rain and when even when the sun is extremely hot...
