Miscellaneous: If you are going to hike around the mountains buy the map of Moravskoslezske Beskydy 1:50,000 (Hiking map No. 69 by SHOCart) for 69 Kc and/or Beskydy, Ostravsko 1:100,000 map for 49 Kc (by SHOCart). They were available in bookstores at least in Jablunkov, Cesky Tesin, and Olomouc and often in larger petrol/gas stations.
In Poland I've bought very good road atlas of Czech and Slovakia 1:300,000 (with index of localities) from EuroAtlas serie with explanations in Polish, Czech, Slovak, Hungarian, German, English, French and Italian language. It was available in most bookstores, supermarkets, many petrol stations and in main border crossing points (Cieszyn).

Luggage and bags: For walking around Koprivnice, small, city backpack and surely bag for your camera - both water-proof.
Clothing/Shoes/Weather Gear: Comfortable walking shoes preferrably water-resistant: like good trainers or better special walking shoes (Danish Ecco are very comfortable and... expensive but worth the cost).
Sun-glasses esp. in winter and summer and always a rain coat.
