When we had a week's meeting in Science and Technology Park, we were going for lunch (midday menus, from 12:00 till 14:00 for 69,- CZK) to the Park Restaurant everyday, as it is located in the complex.
What I really liked was the soup - they bring you big tureen and you can eat what you can :) The meals were quite ordinery.
It is restaurant where I would definitely not go for a romantic dinner, but for lunches during some business occasions it's quite OK.

This was the first place I stepped in for dinner at my first visit. It is a pub and restaurant combind together, they serve Starobrno Pilsener which is nice and traditional Czech and Slovak food. Very quick I realize that if I keep eating out in this town/country, I will have a weight problems :)

Celebriting my birthday in 2005 at home with my good friends I couldn't meet three of them so I invited them later to this "Fermata Bar", which is located one bus stop before ZOO. I have never been there before and I was curious ;-) what it is like.

At the corner of the main market square is the town museum, which used to be the "Radnice" (town hall), "under the museum" is a delightful restaurant, which is reached by climbing down stairs, the ambience is well lit and airy, the staff friendly, and on the walls are pictures of old Ostrava.
Favorite Dish: I enjoy Czech food very much and had a typical Czech dish of pork, vegetable salad and Czech dumplings, which is very warming and filling. I enjoyed drinking Pilsner Urquell (Pilzen padroj) beer.

It is very nice restaurant inside. I was there three times. One "fella" plays the music of all styles. From Czech folk music to pop on Fridays and Saturdays so you can have a lunch, dinner, drink, dance on the dancefloor. That means you really can enjoy your life there!!!
Of Fridays and Saturdays you can listen to cymbalom folklor music.

This place called Potrefena Husa, those are part of Czech networks of cafe's and I have been to them also in Prague and Olomouc. The good part is that you know what you are going to get. Good coffee, good beer and some good items in the menu as well.

This very local hidden place located about a mile from the city centre. It was my colleague who recommend to me this place. The place looks very nice, the service was good and the food was excellent. However, the down side they did not server any real local beers, but import brands, that is not something I appreciate much in Czech.
In sunny days they have very nice terrace, great for Sunday afternoon lunch :)
Favorite Dish: The menu has some good interesting local dishes as well of many Italian style food.

This place called: Zámek Zábřeh and by far this is my favourite place in this city and that is not only because they have excellent beer, but also excellent food :)
Favorite Dish: The have excellent traditional and international dishes and fantastic none filtered own beer. White and dark lager are just amazing, those are probably one of the best beers I ever had and one of the only few I will give full 5 stars :)

Cafe Cerná Hvezda which as far as Iv'e been told means black star is located at the edge of Stodolni street. It is seems to be very popular for a coffee & cake after office hours and sometimes a bit over crowded, the good side if that in the summer they have also a nice terrace.
Anyway, the cakes were all right here but the coffee itself was not as good as one should expect from a place like this.
