Border of two towns: Ostrava & Rychvald by Zajem After deciding to go to Ostrava by car and choosing "your" car in many car rentals in Prague use the highway D1 - Prague - Brno - Vyskov - then take the speedway R46 Vyskov - Prostejov - (Olomouc). Before you arrive in Olomouc, follow the direction Ostrava. There new pieces of highway to Ostrava are being built and the entire part Vyskov - Ostrava D1 should be finnished and given to use in 2010. I don't know if you use this highway, because it can happen you will leave the highway for visiting the town around. :-) Car rentals companies at the Ostrava airport: Europcar: link Hertz: link National Car Rental: link Zeman Car: link Leave a Comment

The ripped sky by Zajem Ostrava has got the international airport by the village of Mosnov, 25 km WS from Ostrava. On December 14,2006 the airport for Ostrava got a new name Leos Janacek Ostrava Airport and since December 19th you can enjoy the new terminals where all the flights are checked in at. The map is here. The Leos Janacek airport Ostrava is marked by No. "1". There are four domestic flights situated to the capital of the Czech Republic - Prague. The flight takes one hour to get there. There's also a route to (and back from) Vienna, Austria. Also four regular flights per day. Starting June 2007 the passengers will have the opportunity to use the direct lowcost charter flights to Girona in Spain and Thessaloniki in Greece run by smartwings.com. The weather for Ostrava. I mostly use tickets for 15 (one trafic zone) and 45 mins (or two trafic zones). You will buy them for 10,-Kc (15 mins),15,-Kc (45 mins) and 20.-Kc (60 mins). A bus/tram driver will only sell you a 45-minute ticket for 20,- Kc as "an additional sale". Leave a Comment

Ostrava is divided into four main zones: 1 - centre 2 - slezska Ostrava 3 - Ostrava Zabreh 4 - Ostrava Poruba In these zones the tickets are limited only by time, outside these zones the tickets are limited both by time and by number of zones you are going through. Tickets: 15 minutes/1 zone 45 minutes/2 zones 60 minutes/3 zones 90 minutes/4 zones 105 minutes/5 zones 120 minutes/6 zones From main railway station to the very centre it takes about 10 minutes (1 zone), from railway station Svinov to the centre about 15 minutes (1 zone). When travelling in Ostrava you can use bus, trolleybus or tram. It is cheaper to buy tickets in tobacco stores or in automatic machines then at the driver's. Leave a Comment Theme: Other

by cheekymarieh Trams, buses and trolleybuses are plentiful around the city and run regularly to the city centre for the main railways station. To use the trams you really need to purchase tickets in advance from either a machine or one of the many kiosks around the city. They are also available from the Tourist Information office. Tickets cover either: 15 minutes, 45 minutes or 60 minutes and the price increases accordingly. The same tickets can be used on all forms of public transport within the city. When you enter the vehicle make sure you validate your ticket in the machine. Leave a Comment Theme: OtherPhone: 597 401 555-6Website: www.dpo.cz/ Other Contact: E-mail: infoservis@dpo.cz
