There are more than 1000 caves but only 5 are open to public. I have made a small trekking and visited Punkva caves, Macocha abbys, Big and small bridge... It is beautiful place, very green and very well decorated cave. After dry section cave you continue for a boat trip. I definitely would like to come back with my friends.

there are two ways how to explore the abyss:
more comfortable for me was from the bottom ... for that you have to enter Punkevni jaskyne caves...there are quite queues so come in the morning to get a good ticket (especially in the summer season)

In vicinity of the Punkva caves there's a little village called Veselice. We could not miss their observation tower!

We got to the Punkva caves' entrance from Macocha, it is a nice walk but you can also use a cableway or a tourist-train. We used the cableway to go back up to Macocha. You can take pictures with your camera in the caves for a special fee but please don't do it, the photoflash is terribly annoying. Part of the tour is a boat-trip, I recommend not to sit at the edge of the boat ;) Also, you will get a chance to walk on the bottom of Macocha.

We started at Macocha's upper bridge, picked our booked tickets for Punkva caves there and continued down to the lower bridge, then followed a path to the Punkva caves.

Once you go out of the Punkva cave you can go up the cable car to the top of the mountain. From there you can look down the steep Abbyss, to the place you saw from inside the cave.
You can also take a hike to the surrounding forest, or just drink a coffie in the coffie shop.

You must reserve your seats in advance. In the season you may need to reserve up to two weeks in advance. Other wise you might find yourself outside the cave.
