Second weekend in July every year gets this city crowded. There is comming the City fair. There are a lots of celebrations and festivals. For example you can see international folks dance festival, beer celebrations and markets. This all is done in czech style, markets are historical with real smith, joiner and other old professions selling their products and wearing old czech clothes.
Your kids can enjoy a lot of czech sweets (which taste great...) and attractions like carusels etc.
I can promise you all costs are half of Prague costs. Hotels even less.
