Fernet

by Gili_S

One drink that is not that famous but very good and I always buy and take with me home is this Fernet, especially the Fernet Citrus. A kind of a herb liquor with citrus fruits aroma, this is actually my favourite and this is suitable very much in the cold winter nights when you feel like something sweet and smooth drink. By it in supermarket in the city if you can, it will be cheaper then in the airport.

Excalibur city in Kleinhaugsdorf: A Great shopping south of Znoijmo

by globetrott

Once upon a time there was a clever Austrian, who had the brilliant idea to build a duty-free-shopping-centre inside the wide stripe of land between Austria and Czechia, that was once used for the watchtowers and the death-zone at the communiste border .......all of a sudden nowbody knew what to do with the area, except Mr. Seunig, a clever young man from Austria who became Multimillionaire within a few years...And you may easily see he is a big fan of phantasy, dragons, gargoyles, mystery things etc.All restaurants are OPEN 24 hours a day !!I made a seperate page about this place :Excaliburcity by Globetrott ONLY 25 CIGARETTES per person are allowed to be bought there and taken into Austria !!!!for spirits, wine and champagne there are almost NO restrictions.all other goods are not restricted at all !!Gasoline is cheaper than in Austria, but still a bit more expensive than in Znojmo or...

Shopping for crystals

by hopang

Pure genuine crystals and glasses are very popular in the Czech Republic. They are also of the highest quality too. Take the opportunity to purchase some of them if you visit the Czech Republic on your vacation! One of the few locations in the Czech Republic where you can purchase genuine crystals and glasses at reasonable prices is the streets outside Karlstejn Castle. We purchased several crystals and presented them as gifts to friends and relatives at home.

Buying Crystal in Czech Republic

by alex0312

You can purchase crystal almost anywhere, but you will pay different prices for it. Needless to say, you will pay the most in tourist area of the city. The one place is Karlstejn castle. There is a village at the foot of the castle and they sell crystal at much better prices. So if you plan on visiting the place, you can buy it there.

Cesky Granat: Garnets

by DueSer

This is one of the better garnet shops in Prague. They offer quality garnets in a variety of pieces so you can select anything from a simple ring for less than $50US to a complex brooch or necklace for a couple of hundred dollars US. The staff are friendly and don't push you to buy something. Garnets are unique to the area and make a nice souvenir. (If you want something really special (and very expensive) some antique stores in the area around the square have antique garnet jewelry. They are breathtakingly beautiful but very expensive.) Rings are the least expensive items. Some brooches I saw were in excess of $200US.

Crystalex Factory Store: Bohemian Glass

by DueSer

This shop offers "seconds" (altho I couldn't find anything wrong with the items sold here) from Crystalex, makers of Bohemian glass. They offer bowls, vases, glasses, knickknacks...basically anything you could think of out of crystal. Every item sparkles like diamonds are dropped into the glass while still hot. Designs range from simple to complex but they're all beautiful. Prices are low because they are seconds. When you select an item they bring it out for you to inspect. If you find a flaw, you can ask for another piece in the same design, until you find one to your liking but I never saw any flaws. Bohemian crystal is unique to the region and is known world over for its quality. The showroom seems small but is packed with items - you should be able to find a souvenir that fits just about any budget.
