If you take a stay in one of the cheap
pensions at Pomezni Bouda
"Grenzbauden" 100m to the polish
border you can make fantastic
walks along the czech/polish border
on good marked trails to Snezka
(Schneekoppe) and further on.
You can even go down by Lift to
the polish site.
You`ll need polish and czech money,
because on that side of the border
mark a challet lies, to this country
and currency it belongs.
This "Pomezni Bouda" is to reach
by bus in summer holidays directly
from prague, other times 3 times a
day from "Pec pod Snezku"
Important advice:
There is no bus service to Poland,
only to the Czech side.Please
don`t go down to Poland by car
or taxi, it`s very dangerous.
There are mafia-spys near the
border crossing who tell their mates
about foreign cars by handy ,and taxi
costs EURO 25 to the next village!
Enjoy the landscape, and if you want
to go to Poland take the Lift down to
Kowary.Even the restaurant on top
of Snezka belongs to Poland,so you
can buy some souvenirs there!
Good clothing,weather changes
3 times a day, often fog in July
on top of the mountains or storm.
They say it`s a climate there like
on the German Zugspitze,
although it`s 1000m lower.
Always have a valid passport and
the two currencys with you !
A czech and a polish phonecard
is usefull
don`t forget a good hiking map
(czech or polish, you can buy them
right there) Leave a Comment
