 globetrott Says:  At the end of the town-square you may see this great water-basin with a fountain and a beautiful sand-stone fence with many ornaments around it. 

 globetrott Says:  Take a closer look at the great details in the sculptures, made totally of sandstone, with a very few guilded parts.Where-ever you go in Czechia, these memorials look slightly different in every town. 

 globetrott Says:  Memorials for the end of the plague are to be found on almost every townsquare in Czech republic.This one - to be found opposite of the townhall - dates back to 1755. 

 globetrott Says:  When you are at the towngate, please have a look for these great facades of the 2 houses next to the gate.You may see that the buildings date back to gothic times with steep roofs, that were " modernized " with fake baroque-facades later-on 

 globetrott Says:  This is the towngate just 300 meters behind the townhall. All of that street is a pedestrian zone, so walking is easy and plenty of benches are waiting for tired tourists. 

 globetrott Says:  The street just behind the townhall is one of the most beautiful sidestreets of Kadan / Kaaden.The street will lead to one of the town-gates. 

 globetrott Says:  The executioner's street is most probably one of the most narrow streets in Czechia - just about 1 meter wide, leading to another towngate, called Katovska brana.This street is just opposite the townhall. 

 patapata74 Says:  Great italian food. Price is slightly expensive than other restaurants in Kadan though. Don't order fish, they are extremely expensive! Pizza #18, Steak Dalas, Pasta with green olives and cheese, Fried mushroom 

 globetrott Says:  I was not really hungry, while in Kadan / Kaaden - BUT a coffe and some cake is always welcome, when I travel...I passed by this small bakery on my way back to the car.They had a counter with a display of cakes and a few tables inside and a few in a garden.The lady did not... 

 globetrott Says:  a lot of parking-spacesA lot of parking-spaces will be empty, even in the tourist-season.Directely on the main-square you may park your car for a small fee in a beautiful surrounding.Outside of the town-square the parking is free of charge ! 

 globetrott Says:  Look at this lovely sculpture - I found it on another house in that same street.Even the walls around and on top of the sculpture are a great work of art with their stuccoworks.This building is just 50 meters from the townhall. 

 globetrott Says:  A bit further down on the same building you may see this lovely sculpture with the Austrian double-eagle. Czech Republic was once part of the Austrian empire, so this also the reason, why all big towns in Czechia have a local and a geman name like Kadan / Kaaden ( I am... 

 globetrott Says:  This building is still in the same street, and next to the town-gate.This kind of scrafitto-facade is still found in many parts of Czech republic, and it gives you the impression to see three-dimensional scructures, but in fact it is totally flat. 

 globetrott Says:  This great building is connected with the townhall and it faces to the pedestrian-zone leading to the lovely town-gate to be seen in the back of my picture.Lovely benches are waiting for tired tourists & car-trafic is restricted to a few local people, living IN that street. 

 globetrott Says:  You may take a look into the church through a locked iron-gate. Photography is forbidden inside the church, but through the gate it is possible. It is alsways again amazing for me to see, that all these churches survived the communiste times obviously without any problems.
