Favorite thing: Litomerice was on our way to Dresden in Germany.
If you don't wish to move on, then Litomerice is quite a good base to see some of the surrounding towns.
Terezin is one, the town where horrific war crimes took place.
Just 40kms from Litomerice, it the city of Teplice, which is a Spa Town. Like other Spa towns in the Czech Republic, it exhumes beauty, charm and wonderful architecture.
The drive to Teplice was along good road, past green rolling hills with views of the Ore Mountains in the distance, quite a scenic route. Teplice itself, is situated in the valley between the mountains.
If you want to see what Teplice is like, check out this website which is full of information and has many photo's.

THOSE QUAINT & INTERESTING BITS & PIECES!
Favorite thing: I love exploring a town like Litomerice! I have found the Czech Republic to have wonderful brightly painted buildings, some plain although the most are a bit fancy, some with quite a lot of stucco work which I find attractive.
I walked around the old town centre, quite easy to do and you really can't get lost.
I love old doors and archways, and here in Litomerice, there are quite a few! What about the windows, there were some beauties, and Towers, they were everywhere! There was something of interest where-ever I went, so go for a walk with your camera and your eyes open!

Favorite thing: One VERY helpful thing for the tourist that I saw in Litomerice is a drinking water fountain. It is located on Dlouha street, in the central part, at the corner to Dominikanska street. It is nicely designed, too.
Push the button - eh voila! Water appears and you can drink.
