After walking around Himmelbjerget and seeing some of the sights, we stopped in the Himmelbjerget Hotel where they have a sort of cafeteria setup for visitors. Grab a tray and pick up juices, water, tea or coffee and snacks or light meals. This is not fancy but it is not expensive either. We had something small such as sausage sandwiches with side dishes, hamburger and fries, or other small dishes (about 6-9 Euros). Salads (about 4-6 Euros) and fruit would have been good choices too. The cashier rings you up and you then proceed into the nice size dining room to eat and relax a while. Unfortunately, we didn't have alot of time but did enjoy the stop for a little refreshment. Prices were under 10 Euros per person for the small meals and something to drink if I remember correctly.
I would have liked to see more of the Himmelbjerget Hotel but since we didn't, it was pleasant to enjoy their dining room and talk with people visiting for the day. The room was large and comfortable with plenty of tables and chairs, and the tables were all covered in clothes. The decor was sort of a comfortable country style.
Since I didn't get any fancy food, all that I can say was that I enjoyed what I ordered as did the other members of the family. If we had been there longer, it would have been nice to try the formal dining room, hopefully with a table with a view. Leave a Comment

This restaurant has some really good buffet selection including lamb, chicken, rice, potato fries, vegetabel stew...as you imgaine, yes they are mostly Turkish dishes... but you can choose from a range of Greek / Italian / Turkish salad and cheese. Fruits like strawberries, dates and slices of melon and cakes are also included in buffet. Price DKr. 99. You have to pay for your drink apart from that. If you happen to come to Den Gamle By museum, Aros or the Art Museum of Aarhus would be on your right side on the way. Even if you don't like 'art' can easily spend a couple of hours at its cafe. For 34 DKr, you get four cups coffee at the price of only two. Good priced snacks are also available. Have a great view of moving Aarhus through the glass. Leave a Comment

This place is a mixture of a bar and restaurant and seems pretty popular with locals. I really liked the feel of the palce, the staff were really nice and the food was good too.
This place seemed to be the height of cool in Aarhus. A good mixture of classy people of different ages.
A terrific latte, a glass of wine and a huge burger after wandering through town and checking out some museums equalled happiness for me.
Open 10am til 2am weekdays and Saturdays, 12 til 12 on Sundays.
This place offers everything from Brunch to Dinner. We were here for lunch but this is also quite a fashionable hangout in the evenings.
We had:
- the Okseburger which was enormous, the type of burger you really struggle to get through with fries and a garlic mayo for 90kroner

my fave restaurant is also a very cheap one( well i dont have money to go to the expensive ones - just a poor student)
Its called ' det grønne hjørne ( the green corner)' and is located on Frederiksgade which is right in the center of town .
they have a delicious buffet containing all sorts of thing just for my liking like cous cous , bulgur, rice, humus and all other good things from the mediterranean area .
The prices for the buffet is from 11 am- 4.30 pm- 59 kr pr person and from 4.30 pm to closing 99 kr.

Cafe Vigo but also anywhere that serves up frikadeller and find a friend that will make you 'rød grød med fløde.'
Cafe Vigo has a side walk area to dine at. It offers an atmosphere that can only be described as 'hyggeligt.' A whole, untranslatable feeling that is loosly said to be 'cozy.' Candle light and small tables on the street that the river runs down. The cafe also offers a full bar for all your Tuborg, Carlsberg, Ceres, Faxa, or other beer needs.
The best hot chocolate in the city! They also have wonderful burgers; piled mountain high with toppings and salad or fries. For other places, try frikadeller. That is the most eaten 'national' dish. It is a pork patty fryed in butter and served with...what else but...potatoes! Rød grød med fløde is a dessert. It is stewed red berries that is slightly gelled then served with sugar and cream. this cafe is situated on Aaboulevarden right in the very centre of Aarhus.

Post has great food, no crowds! As of this writing (Feb 2004) the building is hidden behind a construction site on Åboulevarden. The place has great food and no customers. Friendly service. In sum: Save Post.
