Yes, you read it correctly. Bornholm has a handful of vineyards in the area around Pedersker (between Aakirkeby and Dueodde/Nexoe). The one in the picture is open from 11.00 for visits. When they run out of vine for the season, they make strawberry wine from their berries. There is also a cafe.

Svaneke makes famous Bornholm local beer and it comes in four types, the "Classic" light, a dark "Gold", a stout and a special brew which varies and when we were there was called Sweet Mary and became a favourite (and which we only saw in the brewery itself). In the Bryghus, you can sit next to the copper vats and dine on fish and meat. The meat comes in two different sizes and they take pride in serving only the best, clean cuts. The food is very nicely presented and comes with a salad buffet. As it is Denmark, children are more than welcome and has their own similar menu. With the new Danish smoking laws saying that restaurants can do what they like but must inform their guests, the brewery has chosen to kindly ask customers not to smoke in certain areas.
Favorite Dish: Steak with gorgonzola and Bornholm blue :)

Every coastal village on Bornholm with some self-respect has a smokery, if not several. They are easily recognised by their narrow chimneys, often whitewashed but sometimes also in red brick. Famous ones are in Svaneke and Hasle to name a couple. Here, you will find all sorts of smoked fish, not only local, but of course the Bornholm dishes are the famous ones. Do not miss a visit to an educating eatery (seeing the huge ovens and discussing fishing policy) with local history and flavour combined.
Favorite Dish: Local herring with dark bread.
