Yes, it is touristy!
Yes, it is odd, nowhere finding anything that looks like it.
Yes, it is merchandising, calling the tourist to sell common crafts.
But... I've been there twice, and twice we had to stop and enter the place. I don't know if the results are good, but the good idea seems to work.

All over Bornholm, there are converted farms and harbour warehouses selling a huge amount of very good handicraft of all kinds. There are international Danish designers such as Bo Bendixen with his cheerful textiles and clothing in Snogebaek and there are unknown local artists making just that little something you might fall for. Clothing and ceramics are everywhere in abundance but there is also amber jewellery, candlemaking, rock decorations, paintings...you name it. If you are biking, your only problem is how to get it home.

Wow! Many positive things can be said about Denmark but on this beautiful island nothing should be be compared to the rest of Denmark!

Twice in Bornholm, with pleasure. I couldn't imagine a few years ago that a remote island in the Baltic would "call me" twice. But it did, and I'm not sure that it will not happen a third time.
