This little take-away place however far transcends the idea of a nibble on the hoof with everything made fresh from the best ingredients and enters the realm of my serious culinary memories. From first entering and taking in the smells of the cooking doughs, the salamis and cheese I knew this was going to be good and dissappointed I certainly wasn't.
The Pizzeria Due is also a deli with a range of fresh breads, meats, cheeses and vegetables, along with top-quality oils and seasonings and obviously these are used in their pizzas.
Our pepporoni "sandwiches" (calzone) were positively voluptuously filled with plenty of sausage, salad and the dough itself crumblingly rich and made with an incredibly well-flavoured oil. Yep, amongst the best I've ever eaten! Washed down with a bottle of Nasturo, also to take away, made for a perfect street nibble.
