Café Lindevang: traditional Danish food
Most of us enjoy sampling local/traditional food when traveling to other cities and this is where Café Lindevang comes in. Café Lindevang was opened in 1938 and has served dishes from the countryside of Denmark since. Inside the restaurant and on their menu you will find a sign saying "byens dårligste madsted" - the city's worst restaurant. Why is that? The story goes that 2 butchers used to go there to eat everyday, so the restaurant staff would make space for them. One day, the restaurant was full and they were turned away. The next day, they came back with a sign saying "byens dårligste madsted" and they've kept it ever since. The truth is, the food is far from worst. It is excellent! But be prepared: the portions are b-i-g. And the best part is that it is reasonably priced, and you get value for your money.
