Tisvildeleje is famous for it's beach. In the 60's it was the most preferred beach for visitors from the Capital. Now it has changed yet Tisvilde is still very popular.
The name Tisvildeleje in direct translation is the berth of Tisvilde.
The beach resembles the characterisation of west located beaches of Jylland with it's wild sand hills and old fishing houses. The beach is very child friendly and there is a nude beach 2 km away from the parking lot(a part of it function as a meeting place for gays, but it is not a huge problem). The beach lies next to the Tisvilde hegn, which makes up a 9 km line of woods, closeup to the beach.
