Bicycles are very well catered for in Denmark but if you are hiring a bike or just borrowing them then be prepared to spend a bit of time getting used to their braking systems. The bikes we borrowed didn't have the levers on the handlebars - instead we had to push backwards on the pedals. It all took a bit of getting used to but once we mastered the knack it was OK. I found starting off a little tricky aswell but again practice makes perfect .
Denmark is clearly a great place for cycling and we really enjoyed exploring by bike.
