Castle Tranekaer / Tranekaer Slot is a lovely palace in the north of Langeland and it dates back to the year 1200. Some of the castle-walls are 3 meters thick. Unfortunately you may not enter the palace itself, but take a walk around this lovely palace in the castle-park and you can visit also an interesting museum with plenty of exhibits about Tranekaer-Slot closeby. There is also a restaurant with an funny interior, because this restaurant was built inside of the old horse-stables and they left the old "boxes" and you may now sit, where the horses used to stand.
Outside of the village of Tranekaer you may also see an old windmill, still fully functional and open for tourists.
Unfortunately I cannot find my new pics of Tranekaer and may show you just this old one of 1964, it is scanned from a Super-8-film my father had made.

Bagenkop was the place were we had our base to explore Langeland. One of the cousins of my mother was living there, and she had invited us to spend some time there in 1964. In the year 2000 I returned there and I think that Bagenkop might also be an interesting place to go for ordinary tourists, who care for lovely landscapes and a quiet vacation, go fishing and swimming, watch the boats coming in and out the small port etc.
My favorite building in Bagenkop was the church, where you may also see a sailing-boat hanging down from the ceiling, in order to get a safe return of the fishermen of Bagenkop. The husband of our relative was one of them, beeing out on the open sea fishing for several weeks, so we actually never met him in person.
