Gelato offers good italian Ice cream, and pancakes with different fillings. Furthermore you can get coffee etc.
Favorite Dish: Pancake with chocolate, banana and coconut (30 kr.), really nice dish on those cold winter days. In the summertime the ice cream is quite good (my favorite is the pistachio).

Located just round the corner from Kongensgade (pedastrian street) Capri is located on the first floor in an older building on Dronningsgade.
The restaurant opened in 1978, making it one of the oldest italian restaurants in Odense.
The interior bears witness to the owners great passion for racingcars italian style.
The food is somewhat mediocre, however prices are reasonable and some of the dishes are of a good quality... and the italian beer is also ok.
Favorite Dish: The mushroom pizza is good (if you are a fan of mushrooms)

On the corner of the building you see in this photo is a nice local pub. But if you want to eat a little something there, it won't be served after 15 hrs in the afternoon. So we had to make do with potato crisps.

This is a 3 story restaurant where you can reserve the top floor to yourself if you are with a group.
Favorite Dish: We had a meal here as a group of nearly 30 people. As a starter a half avocado filled with shrimp and salad. Main was a sort of folded pastry thing with chicken in it with fried rice and salad. Quite spicy!
Of course I didn't see the bill, not being the host. But from the restaurant website I estimate this 2 course meal to be 135 DKK (18,12 EURO).

China Wok House restaurant is located on top of the cafe "Vestergade 1", and you enter the restaurant via the stairway that is located besides the cafe on Vestergade.
They have a quite extensive buffet for 125 kr. where you can eat all you want ranging from all sorts of fried meats (you see the wok-frying of our preselected meat and vegitabiles), 12 different deepfried dishes and an equally extensive ice-buffet on top of it (alternatively you can choose an Irish Coffee).
The interior is quite nice, and held in colorfull chinese style, and the view from the windows gives a atmospheric impression of Vestergade and Fisketorvet, below.
Favorite Dish: There are really a lot of good dishes here... nothing fantastic, but good and quick food.

Vestergade 1 is a mix of coffehouse and restaurant. The food is well-tasting although nothing out of the ordinary.
The restaurant is located at Vestergade 1 from where it draws its name, and this location is the major setback because it is located right by Thomas B. Thriges gade that cuts through the inner city of Odense.
Favorite Dish: The brunch is pretty good.

This mediumsized restaurant is located in at the harbour district in Odense, and its foremost characteristic is that its a original Itailan restaurant. You can get a good old pizza here but its many of the salads and other native Italien pasta dishes that are best (in my opinion).
The athmosphere is unique and cosy, although it can be a bit hectic sometimes because the restaurant is only open from 18 to 22 each evening.

We stumbled on this restaurant after a city visit during a very windy day when we were cold. Despite not having anything particular for children, we decided that the menu looked appetising and we were not disappointed. They have a long selection of brunches inspired by all sorts of kitchens. Staff is young but friendly and even though they allow smoking, no one did during our visit. Instead, they enjoyed their huge glasses of juice with a brunch. You can also get such things as mussels and burgers.
Favorite Dish: American bruch with a small sirloin style steak, fried egg, potatoes, fresh fruit of all kinds...
