Odense Bulldogs hockeyteam by Dee22 If you are a hockeyfan visiting Odense during the hockeyseason (September-April), you gotta come see the Odense Bulldogs play a homegame. The Danish hockey league may not be known as a top league in Europe, but through the last 4-5 years, Danish hockey has developed much, and has a pretty good level of play due to strong foreign players and success with the national team. Odense is one of the youngest clubs in Denmark, but after the opening of the new national arena in Odense, the team has developed into the heavy favorite over the last couple of years, but has still yet to win it's first ever championship. The city's two icehockey arenas are connected, and the new one holds more than 3.200 spectators. Drop by for a Friday nights game, and the arena will probably be full, so be there at least 30 minutes before the game starts to buy your tickets, which are not too expensive. The arena is a combination of seats and stands, and it's always a show to watch a game with light and smoke-effects as the players enter the ice... Game nights are usually Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and Sunday, and you'll be able to watch a national team game sometimes too. Be sure to check out my unofficial website in english for the game schedule, news and much more... Leave a Comment Theme: Sports WatchingAddress: Odense Isstadion, Mollemarksvej, BolbroDirections: The arena (Odense Isstadion) is located in Bolbro, which is the western-area of the city - only 10 minutes from the center city by car. Just behind the soccer stadium. You can take the bus (#51) from the trainstation, direction 'Bolbro'.Website: http://www.bulldogzone.dk

My artistic petanque player by Dee22 You might know the game of petanque if you have been to Southern France, or you might have played something like it with colored plastic balls in your garden. Petanque is played with steel balls (boules) though, and even though it's kind of the national sport of Southern France, it's played in Denmark and Odense too. For fun, but also at a competition level. Odense Petanque Club has it's gravel courts in the 'Ansgar' park near the center of the city, and you are welcome to use the courts on your own if they are free or come and join in and try it out with some of the club members...or just watch the games!
If you are going to play on your own you already know the rules, and you need to bring your own boules of course. If you wanna try it out with the members on a practice-day (Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays) you'll probably be able to borrow some boules! Leave a Comment Theme: OtherAddress: Ansgar, Sdr. BoulevardDirections: You'll find the Ansgar park near Sondergade and just behind the Ansgar church.
