It's an easy train ride from Kopenhagen to Odense and it takes about 1.5 hrs.
A single trip costs about 28 euro.
The best tip is to make seat reservations (which you can do up until the train leaves) at the ticket counter. It's definitely worth the small extra cost if you want a seat.

Odense Banegård Center (OBC) is the transportation hub for Odense. Al city busses, regional busses, and trains in Odense stop at the center.
On the first floor you will find the central library in Odense, on the second floor there is a small shopping mall and on the third floor there is a big cinema complex (the biggest in Odense).

When you arrive at Copenhagen's Airport you have to take the train to arrive at Odense. It's not a long trip and it's very nice and comfortable as the trains are very good. Beside, in the last part of the travel the train directed to Odense will bring you in a tunnel under the sea! What an emotion! You'll feel it! Pay attention to your ears!!! :-)) It's funy!

Odense is well connected railwise. You can get to Copenhagen i about 1 hour and 15 min and Aarhus in approximately the same time. There is also a local line going from Odense to Svendborg that makes a couple of stops in southern Odense.
Finally there are several international connections to many major european cities.
Trains scheduals can be found, and tickets can be reserved/bought on the DSB homepage.

The regional bicycle route 35 leads from Odense to Bogense (36 km from city square to city square). If you start out from Odense the route goes down Rugårdsvej, to Tarup where it turns north through Næsby and into Søhus. From Søhus there is 4 km to the cosy village of Allesø on the outskirts of Odense. From Allesø you pass by the local airport at Beldringe and then move on to the small village of Serup. From Serup you have about 5 km to Skamby where the trial turns west towards the village of Roerslev, followed by a forrest passage that leads to the Gyldensteen gods (Gyldensteen Castle). From here there are 4 km to Bogense and about 6 km to the center of Bogense.
To follow the route you just have to follow the small blue signs that are placed at all the truns on the ways.

Denmark is a country for cyclists and Odense must surely be one of the top cities for biking in here. There are even parking centres for bikes as seen in this picture. Ask the tourist office for updated bike rental places.

Odense is easy to get to by train since it is along the main line between Copenhagen and the Jutland peninsula. This means plenty of trains, both high speed and regional, throughout the day. You can also get night trains to Odense from Germany via Flensburg.

Odense is the capital of cycling in Denmark. Bike tracks are everywhere and often is necessary for pedestrians to give way to them. Just in the center there's a "bike totem" where every bike passing by is counted. 3 millions bikes pass at this "bike checkpoint" every year, averagely more than 8 thousand per day.

If you go to Odense by train or bus, this is where you'll arrive. 'Odense Banegaardcenter' - the trainstation.
You can come here from both sides of Denmark, and with both the 'nationwide-trains' (Intercity) or the regional trains (that can take you to cities on the Island, Fyn).
You'll also find the main-staion for the local busses (bybusser) and the 'regional-busses' (rutebiler) here.
The local busses have about 10 different lines around the city, and all but one goes through here on their way from one end-station to another.
With the 'regional-busses' you can go to almost all other cities on Fyn.
You can also easily get a cap/taxi from here!
The trainstation-center includes a lot of shops or services:
Bio City (the 'main' cinema in Odense)
MacDonalds restaurant
Blockbuster movies (for rent)
Internet cafe
Solarium
Baker's shop
Gift shops
Music store
Pub
DSB restaurant
Ticket sales/information
Baresso coffee
Big Library (the main library in Odense)
Police station
Womens hairdresser
Womans clothes shop
Flowershop
Food market
Travel 'shop'
Sunset restaurant (fastfood)
Conference rooms
Toilets
...and more.
From the trainstation you'll have a five-minute walk to the center of the city!

It should be a pretty easy trip on the train from Copenhagen. It's worth noting that you cross between islands via a tunnel rather than via the magnificent bridge - you get a view looking back to the bridge on the Odense side.
Danish trains are normally excellent - and easy to find your way about, but the day I went there was a very late platform change to a platform without an indicator board, but fortunately a friendly guard to confirm it was the correct one.
By foot ! Lots to see in a small area - with the rail station within easy reach of all of them.
