Tranekær Slot is another castle close to Svendborg. I have been there several times and unfortunately this castle is off-limits for visitors, but at least you can take a walk in the castle-park. The windmill of Tranekær was under restauration, when I visited it last time in August 2010 and it is a pity that the restaurant of Tranekær Slot is also closed now, because they have an interesting interior, where they used the former fences for the horses as decorations around the tables of the restaurant - see it in my 3rd photo !

Egeskov castle is just 15km from Svendborg and it is not only one of the most beautiful castles of Danmark,but you find there also an excellent carmuseum, the Falck-museum of firefighting, a maze, a treehouse and a lot more attractions for all of the family.
Titania's Palace is that giant doll-house that you see here in my 2nd photo and it is part of the permanent exhibition in the palace of Egeskov that is partly a museum and partly still inhabited by the owners of that castle.
