To Copenhagen by plane by HORSCHECK The airport of Copenhagen is located in Kastrup, a town on the Amager island which is only 8 km southeast of the city centre. It has an excellent train service to both Copenhagen and via the Oresund Bridge to the Swedish city of Malmo. Leave a Comment

Copenhagen airport is quite spectacular and it is fairly large so just when you thought you were almost by the exit it seems you are not. When you exit the plane you continue through to arrivals where you collect your luggage & exit. Bear in mind also that when flying back the train brings you into terminal 3 & it is a brisk walk to terminal 2 if you are flying Sterling like we were. Thank goodness for those little trolleys - we only bought hand luggage although strange it seems to get heavier the more you walk I flew sterling airlines from Gatwick which are a budget airline flying to Copenhagen. The flight was comfortable & the crew friendly. Food & drink can be bought in DKK or Euro Leave a Comment

Copenhagen's airport named Kastrup lufthavn in Danish, (Airport code: CPH) is one of the most modern in Europe and is very user friendly many shops and nice waiting areas, the price level is high as there is a lack of competition. When flying from CPH you have the opportunity to avoid the long lines at check-in, as there are self-service automates you can use before you leave your baggage, at special counters for people that do there own check-in. At Arrival the baggage handling is normally quick and trouble free. Transport to and from the airport; A taxi ride (20 Min) to the centre of town will cost around 150 DDK (20 Euro) and extra if it’s in weekends or at night time. Bus lines are available and a regular train opens the opportunity for riding to Copenhagen central station or across the water to Sweden, Malmö. A new (September 2007) mode of transport to the town is the Metro that is not only the fastest (15 min) but also the most affordable mean. To use this you need to buy a ticket at the ticket counter after customs you find it, 50 meters straight-ahead (a good idea is to get a ten ride cutting cart, good for all public transportation, which you stamp before entering the train, bus or metro, 2/3 Zones 120/160 DDK (You need 3 zones to go to the centre of chp. My advice is to buy the more expencive 3 zonecard, or you can stamp the 2 zonecard two times) with one cut on a 2 zonecard you can hop on and off transports for a periode of one hour and longer if you cut more zones. The train and metro platforms are accessible from inside the terminal building and are located in the end of the building at a level below and above the exit.

We traveled to Copenhagen with the Danish budget airline Sterling. The service was as you would expect on any budget airline. Adequate. Food has to be paid for and really isn't worth it. We had a half hour delay leaving Gatwick but no problems on the way back. Leave a Comment

by cachaseiro Cimber-sterling is one of the biggest budget airline from scandinavia and has lot's of flights to many european destinations. they are not the best and not the worst of budget airlines and it's worth checking out their page if you plan a visit to copenhagen as they might have the deal you are after. an extra note: the airline sterling went bankrubt in the fall of 2008 but was then taken over by the danish carrier Cimber, an old solid company so they should be in better hands now compared to before where they were owned by some quite unprofessional investors. Copenhagen's Kastrup airport is the biggest Scandinavian airport so very often, you have good transatlantic and Asian connections and there are plenty of flights to all over Europe both by traditional and budget airlines. Of the latter, I can especially name EasyJet to Berlin and various English cities. The Danish budget airlines Maersk and Sterling have just joined forces so their itineraries might change but is so far quite extensive too. Of the more traditional airlines, SAS Scandinavian airlines is of course the best bet when it comes to itineraries since it has its world hub here and these days also sell its cheap Europe and Snowflake tickets. But as for prices, your own national carrier could be just as good. http://www.scandinavian.net/r /> http://www.easyjet.com/ http://www.sterlingticket.com/en/forside_en From inside Scandinavia, there are also the following from Stockholm and Oslo: http://www.flynordic.com/showIndexPage.do (also flies from Tallinn) http://www.norwegian.no/ From Kastrup, it is easy (and quick) to get to the city centre by train as it has its own station. Finally, Malm? Sturup airport in Sweden is just across the bridge and definately an alternative if you fly Ryanair from London or Wizz Air from Polish cities or Budapest. Leave a Comment

I flew into Copenhagen from London (Stansted), the flight only took about an hour and fifty minutes and my trip was very comfortable. It is easy to find your way around the airport at Copenhagen. There are plenty of ATMs or Danske banks if you need to exchange your currency. Also, when taking a flight out from Copenhagen there are many shopping opportunities once you have gone through the security check point. There are many duty free shops selling: chocolate, wine, beer, beauty products and perfume. There are also many other stores selling items like: CDs, DVDs, magazines, books, clothing (mens, womens and children), lingerie, watches and jewellery. Plus there are a number of restaurants and cafes. Easyjet is a great airline to fly with. I have flown with them a couple of times and never had any problems with a delayed flight or anything like that. Their seats are comfortable, they have a great in-flight magazine (with articles you will actually want to read), and the staff are friendly and helpful. Although, like other budget airlines, it is still the same that if you want to eat or drink on the plane (and you have not bought your own), then there is a food/drink cart that you can buy things from. Transavia is a dutch budget carrier that flies between copenhagen and several european destinations, mostly in southern europe. It's a traditional budget airline with no thrills attached to it, but they are not the worst and are certainly ok when you look at the cheap prices they have.
