Copenhagen's Kastrup airport is the biggest Scandinavian airport so very often, you have good transatlantic and Asian connections and there are plenty of flights to all over Europe both by traditional and budget airlines. Of the latter, I can especially name EasyJet to Berlin and various English cities. The Danish budget airlines Maersk and Sterling have just joined forces so their itineraries might change but is so far quite extensive too. Of the more traditional airlines, SAS Scandinavian airlines is of course the best bet when it comes to itineraries since it has its world hub here and these days also sell its cheap Europe and Snowflake tickets. But as for prices, your own national carrier could be just as good.

From inside Scandinavia, there are also the following from Stockholm and Oslo:

From Kastrup, it is easy (and quick) to get to the city centre by train as it has its own station.
Finally, Malm? Sturup airport in Sweden is just across the bridge and definately an alternative if you fly Ryanair from London or Wizz Air from Polish cities or Budapest.

This is great: you couldn't get lost on your way to Copenhagen if you even tried! All main roads and trains in Denmark lead here, all boats going through the ?resund moor here and nearby Kastrup airport (CPH) is a clear example of Scandinavian cleanliness and efficiency.
From Kastrup airport there's really no better and cheaper way to get to the city than to take the train. The station is located underneath the airport terminal (3) and trains to Copenhagen proper leave every 10 minutes. The train ride only takes 15 minutes and drops you off in the centre of town. For further journeys or across the ?resund bridge/tunnel to Malm? in Sweden there are frequent trains as well.

The airport of Copenhagen is located in Kastrup, a town on the Amager island which is only 8 km southeast of the city centre.
It has an excellent train service to both Copenhagen and via the Oresund Bridge to the Swedish city of Malmo.

Copenhagen airport is one of the busiest in Europe and the busiest in Scandinavia. What I like the most in this airport is the nice facilities for children, so, at list they are not bored while waiting. The bad part is, shopping, everything is very expensive, so buy everything before or after leaving this place.

Daily non-stop flights from all parts of the world, ferries and direct trains to major cities in Europe, makes it easy to get here from any part of the world.
I preferred Swiss Air. It was very comfortable.

We took an aeroplane from Sydney to Copenhagen (via Singapore). It took almost 24 hours for the trip.
I would recommend a stop over for a day or two somewhere to break up the trip a bit if you have the time.
From Copenhagen we took a train to Oslo. It was an over night train that took around 7.5 hours. Luckily we got a couchette (six beds in a small room) from Malmo to make for a more comfortable trip...

Avoid SAS airlines, they ripped me off on bag charges, lost my bag for over 24 hours, and were totally unresponsive and unhelpful.
