Favorite thing: Unfortunately when we arrived at Rosenberg Castle the procession was leaving & marching at a fast rate. So let me share the details with you so you don't miss out on this cool daily event. Every day at 11.30am the Queens life Gaurds (bodygaurds) march from Rosenberg castle through the city streets to Amalienborg Palace where the daily changing of the gaurds is at 12 noon. They are always exactly on time according to Allan
When the queen is in residence they are accompanied by the Royal Life Guards band

Favorite thing: On the photo you see the palace Christiansborg (now used as the parliament) and next the bourse, the stocking exchange. The palace has been built on the ruins of the former castle of Copenhagen. Nowadays the parliament and the court of law use this building. In the basements you can visit the rests of the castle of bishop Absalon from the year 1167.

Favorite thing: The Amalienborg Palace was a nice place to visit...it looks great outside unfortunately we didn't get the chance to go inside. We made it to the changing of the guards though (held at midday) which was interesting. This palace has been the home of the royal family since 1794.

Fondest memory: One of many Fondest memories was getting lost in Hamlet's Castle and being mistaken for residents by people taking a tour.
We walked over the moat on a solid wooden bridge and entered the court yard of Kronborg Slot. Being the adventurous type (Read: we were too cheap to pay the price of the tour.) we opted out of the formal tour and wandered around on our own. We found a door which someone had forgotten to lock and we snuck in. (The picture on the right.)
On the second floor, (American)/ first floor (European) we came to a door at the end of a hall way which had a 'peep' flap, (in case you don't know what that is, it is a small covered opening which when lifted can reveal what is going on in the next room.) We heard voices in the next room and wanted to see who was there. We lifted the flap and someone taking the tour saw us. Quickly we dropped the flap and then heard the person saying, anxiously, that they should be more quiet because they were disturbing the residents!
For more information about this historically important castle see my Kronborg page.

Favorite thing: Visit the Amalienborg. We didn't get to see they Royal family but we drove through the center plaza and videotaped the guards as they protected the buildings. I thought it was a cool experience!
Fondest memory: My fondest memory of Copenhagen was the beautiful women. I apologize to my wife for this being my fondest memory but even she pointed them out. It was unbelievable! Don't worry, I only window shop, I never go in and buy anything!
