Favorite thing: Walking through the city over the bridge and stumbing onto the unique world of Christiana, the squatters town where Amsterdam is alive and kicking (out of the bedroom - more into the gardening side of course).
Fondest memory: I got a boat tour thingy (whilst tryng to compose myself after a purchase or two from Christiana) around the canals. They explained the towns' history in about 5 languages (which was a crack in itself). I'm biased though - I love being on the water so they could have floated in the middle of the river for all I cared.

Favorite thing: Christiania is old barracks abandoned since 1971 in the centre of the capital.
This area is squatted by 1000 youngsters.
You have to visit this area !!
