Nyhavn 17: "Daylife" in Nyhavn - VT meeting space
Why only nightlife? Don't people gather socially also in the middle of the day?
Nyhavn 17 is where I met Cachaseiro, Razmatac and Todd from Pennsylvania here on a nice Saturday afternnoon. Claus tells me that this is where VT meeting are often held - I wonder if that explains why the place was being renovated! We had a pretty mellow meetings, but I suppose things can get out of hand, especially if travellers from Wichita are present.

This is a view of the Nyhavn, very close to the Royal Square. The old port ware houses have been turned into pubs, restaurants and clubs. It is not the trendiest area, for sure, but it is here that most tourist come and where you will find the most international atmosphere.

If you want a relatively quiet evening, you can go to Nyhavn - this really is a must if you are in copenhagen in the summer, but I am not sure its that nice in the winter. The charm in the summer is that you can sit outside and there are lots of people and boats...its maybe the most beautiful place in copenhagen??
Hanging out along Nyhavn: Hanging out along Nyhavn
During the summer (we were there in late July) it stays light very late (11PM +), so the party really doesn't get going until 10 PM or so. This inpromptu concert was going on about a block from our hotel.
My favorite area was Nyhaven...
My favorite area was Nyhaven St which is lined with bars and restaurants all open late.

Nyhavn: longest bar in europe
With its cafes and fishing boats, the picturesque canal wharf of Nyhavn (also nicknamed the longest bar in Europe) is one of Copenhagen's most popular outdoor meeting places.....
