A very warm and friendly bistro-style restaurant with an open fireplace for the cold winter months and a terrace for the summertime. They serve my favorite mussels with bechamelsauce! Their steak with béarnaise-sauce i excellent, too! The food is not too expensive, but not cheap either...

Favorite Dish: The mussels are definitely my favorite - the great tasting mussels with the creamy sauce is a winning combination.

One of Copenhagens oldest restaurants situated in nice surroundings in the city center. Whether you sit inside the almost 400 year old cellar or outside at the famous Gråbrødretorv it's all about atmosphere and high quality food at reasonable prices.

Favorite Dish: When you are eating at Bøf & Ost (steak & cheese) - of course you shouldn't miss the cheese after a nice meal.

Boef & Ost: Cosy vaults and classy food

In the pretty Greyfriars Square in the Latin Quarters lies this nice restaurant with the straightforward name of "Beef and Cheese", its specialities. It consists of a maze of whitewashed vaults which makes for a cosy setting. We made it our setting for a VT meeting (see travelogue) and were very pleased with the food which included a complimentary glass of bubbly when we arrived. The only negative thing I can say about the whole thing is maybe that the portions are a bit small. Typical of somewhere striving to be a classy place (with prices accordingly upwards although still affordable). Staff also knew what wine to recommend with each dish so yes, this is not a place for poor students. If you get a more secluded table, it could however be a place for a romantic date. The many vaults seem to go on forever and this is as the restaurant merges with its sister restaurant, the more famous Peder Oxe at the back. They just blend into each other so that if one is fully booked, you might as well just try the other.

    Favorite Dish: Lamm racks...mmm...
