This was Claus's inspirational idea as the place to meet for dinner for a VT meet here in CPH in spring 2007. It is of course a brewery! And a pretty good brewery too.
This is a trendy, busy, buzzy place and the beers certainly are good. So too is the food (mostly) from a monthly changing short menu featuring local seasonal produce (with many of the dishes incorporating the house's beers). Service, on the other hand, I found very hit nor miss but then perhaps that's because it is a victim of its own success. It certainly seemed very understaffed on the night we were there, which meant that we had to go to fetch our own beers from the bar - well it was either that or sit waiting with an empty glass: HA!
This isn't the sort of place for a romantic dinner, nor just to drop in by yourself for a quiet beer, but for a group it was ideal. Busy creates busy, and the atmosphere certainly was electric.
Favorite Dish: If I remember correctly I opted for the beef (?) dish with beans and smoked sausage cooked in one of the beers - this was tasty enough, although slightly pricey. Not too sure about the dessert though. This was a cup of creamy something with a blob of fruity something and a biscuit but I ate it anyway. The star of the show though had to be the 6.5% Bombay Pale Ale - just the thing to set yourself up for an evening of singing and dancing with the Greenlanders!

I didn't check out the restaurant, which is also very popular from all accounts, but spend a few hours in the bar, sampling the many different varieties of beer that Norrebro produces.
As a beer lover, I can say that the quality of the beer is exceptional. Not cheap, but that's Denmark.

Isn't it great how the beer revolution of the last twenty years has inspired a gastonomical revolution as well? I mean, with talented chefs now using rich, complex, and fortifying beers in a variety of different ways. In many places, brewers and restauranteers proudly use local produce, local suppliers. The Nørreport Bryghus (brewery) in Copenhagen is an outstanding representitive of this hopeful trend, a model example of one of my favorite mottos: Think Globally, but Drink Locally (as long as it's not one of the big evil brewers).
I came here with a Great Dane VT-er, Razmataac, and Thomas (Duplo), another Dane (but living in Greenland) who I've met through another internet site. It was a great evening with spirited conversation, tasteful and bold beverages, and expertly prepared and artfully presented food. Everything was at a very high standard: the four selections in my "flight" of beers, the salmon appetizer, the outstanding roast lamb entree, and the berry compote dessert. You won't leave hungry!
But do bring your credit cards, or make sure you have plenty of cash! This is Denmark, prices are Scandinavian, and as of January 2007, the exchange rate was painful for this American. But no one comes to Copenhagen to save money, right? And you can save money the following night with a can of Tuborg and a sausage from a street vendor.
(Servers do an excellent job of explaining the beers and the cuisine that they match - in both Danish and English.)

OK we´ve been here a few times now.
Most recently was to celebrate Dave´s 40th birthday.
The restaurant is attached to a micro-brewery.
We arranged all the details by e-mail from London. With only one error, which the staff corrected without question everything went swimmingly.
It was a very busy Sat night, but they still made us feel like individuals.
Dave was practising his Danish and the staff were happy to do that - but like the vast majority of Danes, English is near perfect.
As it was his birthday meal, we had the Dannebrog (Danish flag) on the table, as is traditional and we added our Cross of St George.
I chose this restaurant for a group meal as I know my friends. Perhaps not one for a romantic tete-a-tete, but definitely makes a great night out.
Favorite Dish: The chef uses the brewery´s beer in the food. Some times seems a little gimmicky, but overall it works.
