Pizzeria at Nyhavn: Pizza and Beer at Nyhavn
In the interests of saving money in an expensive city and of enjoying the fine weather which we had during our trip, (average June temp in Copenhagen is 16, it was 25 the weekend we were there) we bought pizzas near Nyhavn on our first evening and sat out in the sun on the banks of the canal. On a fine summer day there is no better place than Nyhavn. Most of Copenhagen seemed to be there too as well as a good number of football supporters since the world cup had just started.
It was so good we returned the next day for the same meal. I can't recall the name of the pizzeria but it's easy to find, located on one of the small streets extending from the north side of Nyhavn. The pizzas were about 40-50 Krone though at lunch time some of them were reduced to 35 Krone.
Nyhavn: The area of Nyhavn
Nyhavn is not one resaurant but an area a small port in Denmark called "New port" or Nyhavn.
In the second half of the 1600s a new port became necesary to meet the masive growth of commercial traffic. Nyhavn (New port) was made and used for many years.
Now a days most of the charming old buildings from the 16th and 17th Centuries are restaurants and cafes, and many of the ships in Nyhavn is actually also made into restaurants or bars.
Nyhavn has a special atmosphere that I doubt you can find anywhere else in Copenhagen and is for sure a place worth checking out.
Nyhavn: Looks like a good area
Nyhavn is a very colourful spot in Copenhagen. Literally! Along here there are many restaurants, and the outside of each building is painted in a different and vibrant colour. All the restaurants had outdoor seating for their guests. This definitely seemed to be a hot spot to dine while in the city. Or maybe just a place to sit back and enjoy a couple of cold drinks (soft drink, beer or wine, whatever is your fancy).
And although I didn't eat here myself, I had a good look as I passed by and I can imagine that the prices would not have been on the cheaper side. However, if I had been here with friends, I definitely would have chosen it as a spot to dine or go for a drink. The atmosphere of the area seemed very relaxed, plus you've got a canal with boats in it right in front of you, it all makes for a picturesque setting.
So although I didn't eat here, it is definitely something I want to do when I return to Copenhagen one day.

Nyhavn area: Nyhavn area
The canal along Nyhavn is a man-made canal finished in 1671 to strenghten the commercial life in the heart of Copenhagen. Obviously a very colorful area of Copenhagen. There are several restaurants along this canal in which you can enjoy a meal inside or better if the weather is nice, outside. Even some boats on the water are now restaurants.

As in every European city of this size everybody can easily find the suitable restaurant for his/her preferences and taste. And the genuine Danish food must not be missed!! What is less easy in Copenhagen to find the ones fitting to the wallets of a big part of its visitors - Copenhagen is an expensive place.
Nyhavn is full of bars and restaurants. The ones I tried were: Nyhavn 37, Cap Horn and Havfruen, all well worth visiting.
Nyhavn: Trendy places
Nyhavn, East of the centre, is where you will find the trendy bars and restaurants. The setting around the small harbour is very scenic and favoured by locals and tourists alike.
