Riz raz is a cheap place loceated right in the center of town.
It has mediteranian style food, including a cheap and tasty vegetarian buffet.
If you eat meat they also have good meat dishes.
This place has been a fvorite among backpackers and families for many years, because of their low prices and casual atmosphere.
There are two Riz Raz restaurants in Copenhagen and they are both located one block from the main pedestrian street "Strøget".
Favorite Dish: I always go for the cheap and tasty buffet.
Really central location in the old student quarter of the city. Nice relaxed, efficient, friendly ambience.
The main reason for visting Riz Raz is the all-you-can-eat vegetarian buffet for 69DK. This must be by far the least expensive and most tasty way to have a filling evening meal in Copenhagen.
Splendid mixture of pasta, rice and salad items. Yummy rissoles (especially with the garlic mayonnaise) and lovely warm pitta breads.
Favorite Dish: See above - the buffet!!
They do a whole range of set meals too, which looked very pleasant.
We enjoyed lunch here & it was great value as a buffet for DKK59
The selection was vast, various salads, selection of vegetables, rice, chickpeas, tomatoe & marscopone pasta, spinach & ricotta lasgne as well as pizza
There are outside tables & a courtyard in the chain we visited
In the evenings blankets & outdoor heaters still enable those that wish to sit outside
Favorite Dish: The spinach & ricotta lasagne
Nice restaurant that serves Mediterranean food. They have probably the cheapest buffet in Copenhagen, you'll get a lunch buffet for 69 DKK and an evening buffet for 79 DKK (August 2008 prices). I had the lunch buffet with hot and cold dishes (incl. all kinds of salads, rice, couscous, lasagna, falafels, pasta and pizza). The hot dishes were OK, (esp. the lasagna was so yummy!), but I preferred the cold ones. To be honest I didn't recognize half of the cold dishes available, but tried everything and liked them all!
You pay right after you order (they bring you the bill with your drink, which by the way is not incl. in the buffet) and then you can eat as much as you like. The price is unbeatable for Copenhagen. There are two RIZRAZ restaurants in Copenhagen, one in Kompagnistraede (near Stroeget) and the other in Kanikkestraede near the round tower. I had my lunch in Kompagnistraede.
With a superb buffet, with a selection of salads, lasagne, pasta and plenty more, this cost approx. DK59
This is a chain restaurant, the one we selected had an al fresco dining area to the fore of the premises and to the rear was a garden which we opted for as we were a fair sized party of people.
This place exists in two premises and is in just about every guide book imaginable about Copenhagen. The reason? It is dirt cheap for what you get. Whilst budget eating in Copenhagen normally means a dodgy "chicken box" or a shawarma/falafel or Danish hot dog, this place has a whole buffet for less than DKK 80 (price varies depending on what time of day it is). Whilst not as good as food down the Mediterranean, it is still clearly inspired by it and definately good value. Everything is vegetarian (apart from the odd dish in the evening a la carte) and most people come for the buffet. Both places are victims of their own success and can be crowded at times as they are in popular downtown locations, and this can make staff slightly stressed but you should soon find a table. There is everything from small pizza slices and pasta salads to bean salads, hummous and indian inspired dishes. The one near Rundetårn is spacier and has better service whilst the one near Rådhuspladsen still feels cosier.
The lunch time RizRaz Buffet costs 59DKK and consists of mainly cold salads, but also some hot dishes like pizza, pasta and falafel etc. The selection is very good and everything is fresh and tasty. Add a Turborg beer for 24DKK and you've got a cheap feast by Danish standards!
Favorite Dish: Most of the food was fresh and the sauces and dressings were homemade.
This little Meditteranean joint offers a really tasty and affordable vegetarian buffet with prime outdoor seating in the Strýget area. The basement seating area ain't too bad either, with rickety wicker chairs and faux fresco paintings on the walls.
Favorite Dish: I love almost everything! There's a variety of every imaginable pasta salad, falafel, pizza, lentils, tomatoes, potatoes, olives, hummus, warm pita bread, yogurt and cucumbers, pickled vegetables, and bean salads available for the buffet.
The price is a reasonable 49Dkr for the lunch buffet and 59Dkr for the dinner buffet.
Mediterranian cuisine – huge vegetarian buffet at DKK 69/79 (€9/10.50) – lunch/dinner – but also plenty of great meat dishes on the menu, that all include the buffet as sidedishes. I usually have the lamb-shawarma – which (at €18) is the most expensive item on the menu.
RizRaz is that rare thing in Copenhagen - a good-value, cheap restaurant. It's the buffet menu that is best value and which attracts most people. For 59 Krone at lunch or 69 in the evening you get an all you can eat vegetarian buffet. The choice was pretty good as well with salad, pasta, vegetable lasagne, falafal, hummus, rice, etc.
The beer was good value too, the staff were friendly and I quite liked the decor. We sat in the interior though there were plenty of tables out front. There are two RizRaz restaurants in the city centre and I would recommend it for anyone looking for a filling, inexpensive meal.
This restaurant does a great Veggie buffet - although they do have meat dishes. I love food like this where you can pick and choose lots of different dishes.
The decor of the restaurant was nice, staff were good, it was clean and very popular!
Favorite Dish: I love salads so I got tucked into the greek salad and cous cous on offer.
There were so many different items I can't recall what they all were!
It was perfect for us as we didn't eat meat at the time so there were lots of options.
Very cheap (especially for Copenhagen) Mediterranean, vegetarian buffet restaurant.
You can also order meat or fish as a side dish, but you'll have enough just choosing the buffet.
You can go there for lunch or dinner.
They have 2 locations in the center of the city, both with a nice atmosphere.
I took my 4 friends there on our first evening and they liked it so much they wanted to go there again the next day.
If you just go for the buffet and a soft drink price is under 10 US $.
Favorite Dish: All good, very fresh and tasty
Maybe the lasagna ?
This is a friendly restaurant with a terrific vegetarian buffet. You can also order meat, fish, etc. from the menu, but you may find the many mediterranean dishes are tempting and satisfying enough without it. Not too loud during the week, but it does get crowded on the weekends.
Favorite Dish: I loved the cheese-baked eggplant, tomato and squash dish.
Our first night in town and we head into town for a meal at this restuarant.
It's a smorgasboard style. So one just gets up and picks from the table whenever they are after more.
But be warned... there's no meat. It's Vego.
After the initial shock of realising it was a vegetarian I had been brought to I sat down and really enjoyed the meal. It was a chance to try vegetarian food with a Danish spin on things.
This restaurant is famous as offering a wode range of vegetarian buffet includina salads from Italy, Greece and Turkey. For a piece of meat you can choose from menu when the vegetarian buffet is also included.
Popular and tasty.
