Hellum Travel Guide

While in Hellum walk through the garden of the Church. The cemetery is in the church yard which is no longer a common sight. At least here most of the churches I've seen haven't a cemetery attached. Well, older places, like this, out in the country do but for some reason this one was more striking.

This is also a good place to go when researching your genealogy. Church records are very useful for this type of information.

However, we stopped here to see the place my friend went to church as part of her normal life. That was most important to me.

Hellum Kirke

Favorite thing: Danmark is a beautiful country and so compact, if you don't count all the water in between. Though it reminded me of parts of the eastern side of the USA, it still seemed distinct to anything I've seen. Surrounding the town of Hellum are fields being cultivated, and around those fields are forested areas with lazy winding roads. Peeking out from the trees are some beautiful house giving a hint of the elegance of country living. Having a nice little lake near by is an extra perk. A great place to stop for a picnic.
