Himmelbjerget = "The Heaven-mountain"

by Christina1881

Himmelbjerget is the second higest "peak" in Denmark - and is located in Jutland (Jylland) near Silkeborg - it is 172 metres high - and eventhough the view is not like from a real mountain "Himmelbjerget" is located in a beautiful area and it worth visiting - and "climbing"!

Planetarium

by reverb

This is a picture from quite aways away of the Planetarium. It would be the round building with the slanted roof. I hear they have quite the exhibit though I havent seen this myself. They also show Imax movies there and know that you can find these times in your local paper.

Ribe

by elsebeth

Ribe is the oldest town in Denmark. Think they celebrated its 1000 years about 10 years ago. Its situated in western jutland, near Esbjerg. The whole town can be portrayed as a postcard as its very picturesque. One of the famous things about Ribe is the cathedrel which is well worth a visit.again my friend took this pic.(furnituretiger.dk)

Jesperhus flowerpark

by elsebeth

The biggest flowerpark in ScandinaviaAll kinds of pretty flowers, cactuses and succulents characterize the more than 3 acres large park.Colourful flower arrangements changes all through the park and give you several beautiful experiences.Water is important but also a natural part of the park. The water runs through the small streams and into the longest waterfall in Denmark.Funny flower figures decorate the many flowerbeds. Some of the figures reach a height of more than one metre. Some of the figures are models of the real animals, which you will find in the park zoo. For example the butterflies, ducks and even the crocodile.

Take any small road

Roskilde festival

by elsebeth

this is considered the biggest festival in northern Europe.I havent been there since the year before the tragic incident in 2000 where 9 people were killed during a Pearl jam concert. They have made new security measures now and the festival should now be the most safe in Europe.about 200 bands play there every year and its all kinda music but mainly rock and techno, but there is always something for every one.its getting quite expensive going there think the prize is over 1000 kr. for 4 days but for those money u get to see all the gigs u want to, so if u consider that its not so expensive after all

Nice harsh natur

by Heikeweike

Doing a bike or hikking trip from Gilleleje to Helsingoer is the best on a sunny windy day. Starting in Gilleleje or Helsingor there are signes to the walking/biking path. You will have beautifull view over to sweden and enough possibilities to rest. Back you can always go by train.

Tip Photo
Dronningemoelle the nicest beach in Denmark

by Heikeweike

On a sunny weekend the beach is almost overcrowded but there is enough space for everyone, lying in the sun you can look over to sweden. Lots of action, lots of fun. Catch train from Helsingor and jump of at dronningemoelle station or other places when you spot a nice place.
