February is generally the coldest month of the year, with an average temperature of just below 0 degrees Celsius. July is the warmest month with an average of approx. 17 degrees celsius.

The fours seasons are distinct in Denmark so dress accordingly. Warm clothing is needed for the late autumn, winter and early spring. In general, people dress informally. You can check the weather forecast on www.dmi.dk. And don't forget your umbrella when going to Denmark, as it rains quite often.

  • Denmark really never gets too warm so make sure to bring warm clothing with you, and a light rainjacket would probably be of some use. We went towards the end of May and had incredible weather. 22C/71F and blue skies 5.5 out of 6 days!

  • wll, first of all, you sholud visit Denmark in the summer because winters are very, very cold.

Nothing special, if you travel in winter- take lots of warm jackets.

If you go there by car, rent a house and plan to stay for a while - bring as much food and drink as you can. It's really expensive there. I was shocked especially about broccoli prices ;-)

  • Something small and easy to carry.

The weather is similar to that of England, very unpredictable! Bring an umbrella, essential at any time of the year, good walking shoes and comfortable clothing. Remember that the summer here is not often too hot so pack a sweater!

There are many nice beaches around the Copenhagen area and the coountry side is stunning. If you have a few days to spare grab your tent and head for the great outdoors.

  • I found out it's best to bring ones own sheets to youth hostels. Of course one can rent them there too, but they are really expensive (I once rented one that costed as much as the stay for the night! and that's about twice as expensive these sheets would have been in a shop!)

  • Maybe it's just me, but looking at the price for renting bikes I always figured that if I rent a bike for 4 days (or so) I could easily buy it at a shop for the same money...

  • Basic garb, but make sure you have a rain coat, wind breaker, and a sweater in the summer.
Walking type tennis shoes are best for travel in my opinion.

I always bring my own first aid kit. It is a necessity with three children. Basics are band-aids, antibiotic ointment, peroxide, burn cream, tweezers, pain reliever, safety pins, sterile needles, benedryl, and anti-nausea, anti-diarrheal pills.

Our digital camera does video spots as well as terrific photos

I highly recommend the camping cabins in Skagen. These cabins are well maintained, clean, and inviting. This campground is located not far from the lighthouse. (Right now the name escapes me.)

It is very windy in Skagen. Plan for wind chill even in the summer.
