    Jensen's is a chain of Danish steakhouses so it is found in all major cities and it isn't that special but here in Esbjerg is one of its better branches - probably as they cannot take tourists for granted all year round like in Copenhagen. Another thing I like is that it is a perfect compromise for a hungry family. Parents can get more than just a fast food solution and sit down to a proper table with a beer or some wine, whilst the children can be let lose on their sausages/meatballs/pizza/salad menu, followed by all-you-can-eat soft ice with the topping of your choice (in fact they can even pour the soft ice themselves from the machine). The menu consists of various cuts of steaks with different sauces, some grilled chicken dishes, a salad bar a the odd salmon or other thing and is just what you would expect from a place like this even if even the bigger steaks might seem small to Americans.

    Lunch steak with whisky sauce is perfectly OK. Especially considering its price. This is the sort of place where budget travellers can afford a piece of meat rather than just budget food.

    This is an Esbjerg classic in a lovely house in the main square. Summertime you can even sit in the square and enjoy a beer in the sun. The menu varies according to season (always a good sign) but it is always quite a mix of international and classical Danish dishes so you will find both fish, schnitzel and other meat as well as hearty sandwhiches. There is also a well-known brunch most days which stretches over lunch and where you can even get the English breakfast variety with English sausages (hey, the ferry is just a few blocks away) as well as a more traditional pancake variety. There is also a childrens menu.

    In the evenings, this place is one of the hot places in town with regular music gigs, quiz nights and whisky- and beer tastings so you have to check out their website below (also in English).

    Not many places were open so we had to look for the decent place.
    The restaurant was very busy, had an English menu which was helpful. The staff speak English, some dish was not on the English menu (i.e like the soup bar). The food was large, tho mainly chips. They have salad bar as well.

    You can choose 3 different soups from their soup bar. 22Dkk/person

    A very exclusive and excellent restaurant, situated in the harbor area.

    Very nice sorroundings and the waitors are performing their maximum, without having a stiff upper lip.

    It is perheps one of the most expensive restaurants in the city (incl. bourgogne and hotel Britannia)

    Try the 5 courses, it is an unforgettable experience, and the price is fair, although it is not cheap.

    5 courses is about 400 kr. which is about 73$ or 54 Euros or 38£
