It really couldn't be easier to get here, as the Copenhagen S-train commuter network has a line ending here, which means that you can get here in 40-50 minutes from Copenhagen Central station and have trains throughout the day. There are also some trains like the one in the picture, going along a couple of lines in eastern Zealand, as well as connections to nearby Roskilde.

Make sure you get the right one

Køge is at the end of the E Line of Copenhagen regional trains. From Nørreport station, it's a 45 minute ride. Naturally, many residents of Køge commute to the city, but this is certainly more than a suburb

Koge is a small and compact medieval town so you don’t need to use any mean of transport.

We just walked around the city, the town center is full of small streets, dont except big avenues here, what we liked most were the pedestrianized streets near the Koge square.

We saw some local buses but we didn’t have to use any of them.

Even the harbour is just 15’ away.

Koge is located on the Bay of Koge 39km SW of Copenhagen on the island of Zealand.

By Train/Bus
Koge is at the end of E S-train line from Copenhagen. The train ride will take about 40’
From Koge we you can also visit other cities like Roskilde in about 25’. We just used our 24h pass for all zones in Greater Copenhagen area(it costs 130DKK).

There is also bus connection with Copenhagen and other cities (Roskilde etc) but we didn’t use any.

By car
You have to drive south from Copenhagen along E20, it’s about 40km from the capital.

By boat
Since 2002 there is a ferry connection from Koge to Ronne (which is located at the Baltic island of Bornholm). Check the site of BornholmerFaergen company for more info here: http://bornholmerfaergen.dk/Default.aspx?langID=2 If you have a car it’s a good option to visit Bornholm otherwise you better travel through Ystad in Sweden.
