It couldn't be easier to get to Roskilde. Loads of Copenhagen commuter trains (S-train) stop here as do most national trains in and out of Copenhagen. Roskilde also has an airport to complement the one at Kastrup in Copenhagen but there are direct trains from Kastrup too in less than an hour.

If you are staying in Roskilde, and you wanna go to Copenhagen for a day, you should go by train. You can by a 24 hour card which is cheaper then a 2-way ticket or two 1-way tickets. A 24 hour card cost 90 krones, which is about 12 euro or 14 dollar.

Trains from Copenhagen Central Station leaves for Roskilde Station every 5 - 6 times per hour during rush hours.
The trip is only about 1/2 hour since Roskilde is about 30km away from Copenhagen.
It cost approx 52.5 DK to travel if you don't have a Scanrail tix.

The train is probably the easyest way of getting to Roskilde. The trains from Copenhagen to Odense goes through Roskilde, and there are some trains going directly from Kastrup (Copenhagen airport) to Roskilde.
Remember: On the webpage Copenhagen main central station is spelled København H

Coming to Roskilde by Car is easy, but there are some traps to look out for.
First, you should drive on road 21. Roskilde can be reached on ramp 9, 10 or 11. I recomend you take ramp 11 and continue straight ahead. That way you'll be lead into the city center on the northern side of the railway station. If you are going to the south side, turn left at the second stop after the ramp. That way you don't have to drive through the whole town just to get to the other side of the railway station.

It's very easy to get to Roskilde from Copenhagen. There's usually 2-4 trains every hour to Roskilde and it takes 20 - 30 minuttes to get there. You can bye a normal ticket or if you have zone cards you need 7 zones to Roskilde (stamp a yellow card once and a blue card twice = 7 zones)

Roskilde is not a big town, and you can walk to most sights from the station within 30 minuttes. From the station to the Cathedral will take about 15 minuttes, and if you continue to the harbour it takes you 15 minuttes more.
