Legoland is a BIG park, so besides walking around (and you will do this a lot) you can take the train or the monorail. The train takes you basically throughout the whole park, and I think you should take it before you start exploring - so that you get a taste of what's coming. The train has some lego bits like shapes and it's a winner among the children I saw.The monorail gives a different perspective of the park as it rides 4 m above the premises (see picture #2).

Sandormen, or the sand worm, will take you from the kiosk to Grenen, where you can see Kattegat and Skagerrak (read my separate tip about it). It rides every 15 minutes and you can get off at their stop close to the ocean and walk around, etc. and go back with the next sand worm.

If you need to go just about anywhere in Denmark you can do it with public transportation. You might think the planning of a trip out to the countryside will be some endeavour but not so! All you need to know is where you are going from and what address you like to get to. And go to the link below you have the option of getting your direction in Danish/German/English.You can also get informed on the ticket price for your intended journey on the site.

The great sound bridge (Storebæltsbroen) that bridge the gab between the two major islands of Denmark, Zealand (Sjælland) and Funen (Fyn) is the longest bridge in Denmark (longest in the world when it opened 14 jun. 1998) and a major architectural achievement with a span between the two pylons of 1624 meters making it the second longest hanging bridge in the world after the Akashi-Kaikyo bridge in Japan (1991 meters). The pylons are 254 meters high and at the highest the road is 70 meters above sea level. Beside the architectural part it is also the only toll road in Denmark and it cost 205 kroner or around 27,5 Euros for a one way trip across. (Car up to 6 meters)

Smyril Line has the only regular ferry-service for passengers and for cars from Hanstholm/Danmark to Iceland and they always make a stop as well in the Foroe-Islands.The ferry to ICELAND starts Saturday at Esbjerg arriving in Torshaven monday. Then you could make a stopover on Faroe Island, because the ferry will first go on to BERGEN to get some more passengers and it will back on wednesday to go on to ICELAND , arriving there Thursday. - I think this is a nice way to get visitors to the Faroe Islands

Sjaelland bridge / Sealand-bridge makes it much more easy to travel from the mainland of Danmark and the island of Fyn,( that are connected by a relatively smaller bridge as well) and Kopenhagen. And from the north of Sjaelland you can even go across another bridge in order to drive on to Sweden.Sjaeland bridge was opened in 1998 and has a total length of 6700 meters, and the highest point of the street is 71 meters above the sea-level.Driving on that bridge is no really a lot of fun, when it is windy and also, when you try to take pics, while driving, because you simply wont find parking-lots anywhere.205 DDK / 28 Euros is the toll for an ordinary carThe return-ticket is 360 DDK / 39 euros between friday 02.00p.m. and sunday at midnight

Most of flights to Denmark arrive at Copenhagen International Airport. There are also some small airports Århus, Aalborg, Esbjerg and Billund. Between Germany and Denmark's Jutland peninsula there are daily bus and train services. Also Denmark is easy to reach from Sweden.
The best way to see Copenhagen is by foot. For longer distances, the S Train is good choice aided with a good network of transport buses. You can also take one of the canal tours to see around Copenhagen. DFDS Canalways offers one of the best tours.

We had a reasonable flight from Amsterdam to Kalstrup with the Danish company Sterling. We paid 140 euro incl. taxes. There were some delays both ways but on the way there, the plane arrived in time even though we boarded later than planned. On the way back, due to cleaning staff, we took off half an hour later but arrived just 15 minutes late. Luggage retrieval was very fast though, both ways.
